They fail to mention that it is 4" longer than the stock unit on a 2001 Caravan. So that leaves you with a decision on which end you have to modify (before muffler or after). The pipe that feeds the muffler has a bend in it a few inches before the inlet so you can't shorten it there. I had already sawed the old one off and could never get the tailpipe on due to the added length of the Walker muffler. Currently my exhaust stops at the muffler until i figure out what to do about the tailpipe. At least it's quiet now!

Comments about Walker Quiet-Flow SS Muffler Assembly:

I had read a review that the hangers on this muffler caused it to sit crooked, which is true. But it doesn't affect the installation whatsoever, I thought it actually made it easier to install the rubber hangers that are always a pain. Also even though it's crooked, it doesn't sit down too low to get scratched on deep driveways and potholes, it still sits above the rear axel so there is no issues with clearance.

This muffler was an exact replacement for my 2002 Dodge grand caravan sport. Together with the breakdown of the exhaust system on this vehicle provided by your web site I was able to purchase exactly what was required to replace the exhaust system on my van.

              • Q:

The Walker specs indicate that the outlet pipe is 2" outside diameter which when I questioned them and they answered the specs are incorrect in the catalog and it should be 2" inside diameter. Could you verify that the outlet is actually 2" inside diameter. I would need this for my 2001 Chrysler Voyager LX 3.3 flex engine.
All of their other mufflers for this vehicle indicate a 2" inside diameter for the outlet.

Hi Minivan, thank you for bringing this to our attention! The outlet diameter 2"-inch is measured by inside. We have forwarded this information to our content team to update the site. We appreciate your patience while this information is updated.

For 2001 Chrysler Voyager, 2.4L engine. Do I cut the in/out pipes to remove old muffler? Do I need adapter nipples and clamps for new muffler.

                  A:

If all you need is a muffler than this is all you need. If you are going to have it welded, then you will need to take it to a shop to be welded. If you are going the route of just clamping the pipes together, than you will need to get the clamps. Instructions to remove old muffler: 1. Jack the car up on jack stands or car ramps to permit easy access to the muffler and exhaust pipe. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before starting muffler removal. 2. Apply penetration oil to muffler clamp nut and all fittings, as chances are good these fittings are coated with some rust due to the car being driven through rain puddles and snow. 3. Cut the pipes leading to and from the muffler with a hacksaw if the muffler is welded or if the nuts are not adequately loosened for removal after being sprayed with penetration oil. 4. Use an impact wrench to remove the nuts from the muffler hanger. Let muffler drop down to loosen it from the rear mounts. 5. Pry the muffler from the rubber straps holding it in place with a pry bar and remove. Inspect rubber straps to make sure they are not worn; if so, replace them before installing the new muffler. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.
