      Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

Paint the strap before putting on with high temp paint. this should be made of galvanized steel. Remove and bring back to Advanced every year before warranty is up they will get tired of replacing them for free and they might get a better supplier

        Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

I needed a hanger/clamp for my car , had checked them out but all were NOT the exact fit. This one was and it went on with no problems. I had to replace the old one as the exhaust was hanging off the car ! Luckily I was able to find this replacement at Advance Auto and know it was the right one. It is made well and should outlast the car. It came with all I needed to install it , quite easily took only a few minutes and ready to go. Seems to be sturdy and holding up great. The best part is it didn't break the bank !

good at olding the factory exhaust up, however only lasts a couple of years. Painted this one, see if it lasts longer.

          Very disappointed

          Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

I was getting this because my factory hanger finally rusted into. But when I got this product home and stretched it to fit my factory muffler I got under my car to find out my hanger isn't mounted in the same place this one is designed for. The picture shows the one I needed but the one I have the hanger goes parallel with the hanger which is useless. And since I had to stretch it to make it fit I wasn't able to return it . Very upsetting. I'm just glad that is wasn't very expensive. Would not recommend this product. And if you do get it size it up before you ever take it out of package .

              Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

The rubber grommet held in place by the bolted on hanger is designed to take a straight, flat piece of muffler strap. The Walker hardware-strap is "U" shaped, having a small upward lip on each side of the strap that goes into the rubber grommet. It won't slide directly into the OEM rubber grommet without some WD40 and a good amount of effort "forcing" it into the rubber grommet. Nonetheless, I was still able to get it into the rubber grommet and the strap is now securing the muffler so it doesn't move around.

This hanger did not work with the universal Muffler I had to shorten it. It also said it was an exact fit for a 2001 Chevy Cavalier it was not once I had drilled hole in the strap and shortened it I couldn't take it back so I had to bend the hanger tab 90 degrees to make it work

This does not fit into OEM hanger. Would not recommend to anyone. Baling wire is a better option than this.

              Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

This piece is different from the original strap in two ways:(1) the tongue is not the same size, it's wider, creating an issue with an easy fix. (2)this piece will not last a long time, I am on my third muffler strap, the original strap lasted 8yrs and each replacement thereafter 2-3yrs. Best advice I can give is to coat these several times in high heat paint, and a coat of undercoating.

                    A:

I'm glad to assist, John! There are two brackets that Walker suggests for the rear section of exhaust on the 1995 Chevrolet Beretta 3.1L V6. Walker Part No. 35285 and Part No. 35720. For the 2.2L L4 there are two of Part No. 35262 listed.

To ensure you are looking at the correct parts, please ensure to include your vehicle's engine size when searching for parts.

I believe the original poster was inquiring if the tongue portion of the strap has to be welded to the vehicle's frame in order to secure the strap, not if the strap itself needs to be welded to the muffler. The answer to the welding question is still no due to the fact that there is a separate metal bracket sold by Advance (if the current bracket is broken or the rubber insert is deteriorated) that the metal tongue on the strap slides into. Thanks.
