Comments about Walker Universal Converter:

The big warning sign with this is 'Universal Fit.' I'm sure this would be an OK product if you were building a custom exhaust. If you are trying to use this on a factory car/exhaust, measure three times then hope you have good luck and are ready to make mods to use it. Do not expect to just bolt this in place and go.

Comments about Walker Universal Converter:

This part does not fit in the space available on a Hyundai 02 Elantra at all. No amount of modification would help either. Simply the piece does not fit in the space of current catalytic converter.

  • Q:

i purchased one recently from advance. their is no indicator as to which end faces the front/back of the vehicle. how do i proceed? for a 2003 silverado 5.3L V8 LS. check engine light P0433. 180,000 miles. mass air flow sensor clean, throttle body clean, installed 4th fuel filter 2 weeks ago. should I replace the downstream oxygen sensor while the cat is replaced?

      A:

I'm happy to help, Derek! As the code description implies the P0433 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly. Replacing the oxygen sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic converter needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the converter not clearly marked with an arrow to show the direction of flow or marked with an "A" for inlet and "B" for outlet, then the direction really doesn't matter. The shield area should face the vehicle though.

      A:

Catalytic converters are made to last the life time of the vehicle. If they fail, it is because there is something wrong with the engine or the gas that you are using that is causing them to go bad.
