Comments about Walker EPA Ultra Direct Fit Converter:

Only lasted about 2 months then clogged, truck broke down. Lost an entire day of work, the company offered to ship me a new one free of charge but want the consumer to pay to return ship the defective item. Not only am I stuck paying shipping but another repair bill to have the old one removed and the new one installed!! Not a happy customer!!!

Comments about Walker EPA Ultra Direct Fit Converter:

I ordered this on a Sunday and had it at my door when I got home Wednesday. It was a perfect match to the old one and took less than an hour to rip out the old and install the new. I only have basic tools and no lift. This was my first experience working on replacement exhaust. I am very happy with the sound and power improvement I got from this Walker catalytic convertor.

Is it necessary to have a catalytic converter where emmision is not an issue.

              A:

Yes, it is necessary to have a catalytic converter even if emisssion is not an issue. One of the main jobs of a catalytic converter is to convert the dangerous pollutant carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide, which it does with nearly 99 percent efficiency. Removing a catalytic converter without installing a simulation sensor will cause a car's computer to malfunction, which will drop engine power by changing fuel and spark parameters until the catalytic converter is replaced. No engine burns all of the fuel that it ingests. Catalytic converters burn what little unburned gas the engine hasn't consumed to keep it from polluting groundwater upon exhalation.
