Q:what are Pad Sensors for?
A:Hi Pat, good question! The Brake Pad Wear sensor, or brake wear indicator, is an added safety feature on many vehicles used to warn a vehicle’s driver if their brake pad’s life becomes too low.
A:It's a little flat metallic strip that will contact and rub against brake disk when the brake pad wears down and need to be replaced. This rubbing of the metal strip make a screeching noise as a warning that your brakes need replacing. on some high end cars there is an actual electrical connection that is made which will turn on the brake light on your dash instead of the screeching noise.
