Comments about Victor 12 Volt All Weather Power Outlet :
The 2009 Sienna van has two power outlets in the front, one in the rear. This claims to be an "EXACT MATCH," however, it comes fused with a mounting bracket. There's no mounting bracket for the Sienna, it just slips in the hole and locks in place by turning. Not sure how the manufacture saw this as an "EXACT MATCH." Very disappointed. Wasted my time and money having to send it back.

Comments about Victor 12 Volt All Weather Power Outlet :
I hate to throw this power outlet "under the Bus"...i didn't actually get to install it yet. I took it out of the package and was moving it around to find the correct placement on my motorcycle and the next thing i knew...the positive wire was laying on the floor. The solder joint inside the case was bad and the wire just came right off.
I spent a lot of time picking out a power outlet for my motorcycle...I fully intend to return this one and get another one. I am writing this review to hopefully save someone else the trouble of installing this outlet and then having to take it out again to get another one.
I would recomend tugging on the wires a bit before installing the outlet just to make sure they arent going to come off easily.
This outlet comes with 2 short wires (about 5" each) it would have been nice if it came with longer wire, but truthfully, how can the manufacturer possibly know how long to make them...every application is going to be different.
The ends of the wires both have a female spade connector on them...I would imagine that most people will cut these off and splice wire or some other type of connector on them.
From what I saw on the web...this was the best option for a power outlet for my motorcycle because it has a plastic mounting bracket built in. most of the otherones out there are designed to be mounted in a hole drilled into the dashboard...i didn't have room for that.
Radioshack has a power outlet with a built in mounting bracket, but it doesn't have the cover to keep out rain and debris.

What gauge of wire is used with this plug and what fuse amperage rating will support it? Is it 5A, 10A, more?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This outlet uses a 10 gauge cable size and supports a 15amp fuse.A:
If it truly uses 10 gauge wire then you can safely go up to a 20 amp fuse. Most factory power outlets are using 15 amp fuses this includes the outlet that is dedicated for cigarette lighters. Most items you would plug in to an auxillary power outlet usually draws no more than 5 amps maximum. Cell phones, mp3's and such. So a 15 amp fuse is more than sufficent. Make sure your wiring runs to this outlet is done with decent 10 gauge wire to be on the safe side.Q:
Can this be connected and mounted to a motorcycle easily? Or is there a different product out there?3 answers

If you have a good knowledge of wiring, you should be able to wire this up pretty easily.A:
yes it can be used in motorcycle applications. Being universal in design gives alot of mounting options. I would strongly suggest mounting in an area that does not hold water should you get caught in the rain. Angling the outlet so water does not lay on the top cover is the rule of thumb. Just in case the waterproof cover opens up accidenlty or through usage most covers of these type loosen up after time. A little dab of dielectric grease with your finger on the inside of the cover every once in awhile goes along way. Also in choosing your mounting spot away from excessive heat and direct sunlight is a must in my book. Use decent 10 gauge wire and a waterproof fuse holder rated for at least 15 amps with a 15 amp fuse in the holder and your outlet will last along time. If you are pretty decent with wiring you can even run it off an accessory circuit so power only runs to it while the ignition is on. Most newer bikes have those circuits available.Q:
