Comments about Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease (16 oz.):

I needed to replace my wheel bearings and the only grease I had in my garage was some old generic axle grease, so I decided to buy something better when I bought the bearings. I was originally going to just buy the Valvoline stuff for Ford vehicles, but I saw this for not much more and after reading up on it saw that is was better in every way over the Ford one, and not really that much more cost wise. The grease itself feels like most any other grease, but does have a slightly different appearance to it (a silvery black, not black black like most). Not sure if that is the Moly in it or what, but that is fine. I wish it came in a smaller tub though, I used maybe 1/10 of what I bought

Comments about Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease (16 oz.):

Black with good metal (and hands) clinging properties. Seems to be thicker & blacker than the gray CV grease that comes with all the replacement CV boots I've purchased. As a result it should withstand the high temp in the CV joint at high speeds.

Not used often - I needed more grease because the Honda Civic outer boot slipped off (no metal CV ridge to hold the rubber boot like on Nissans) and the grease scatters.
Solution - Added this grease to mix (designed to circulate within the joint if sealed), cleaned the boot ridge/rim, applied Permatex Red High temp gasket RTV for adhesive to the metal, then slowly slid the boot on & clamped.

If you have to replace your front wheel bearings then use this grease to protect them from future wear. I like to wear rubber gloves when "packing" the grease in the bearings and then remove them before assembling the wheel/hub assembly.

Comments about Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease (16 oz.):

It's Valvoline, a name that I trust and have for years. I like the fact that it is full synthetic which should help last for years. I have used this on my garage door opener only to quieten it down & it worked. I did not use it in the high heat capacity one would normally use this for so I really can not say how it would be on bearings and such, but I would definitely use it over the no name brand.

Can this grease be used on electric drum brake wheel bearings or just dics brake wheel bearings. I would be using it to repack my 5th wheel camper wheel bearings which has electric drum brakes.
