Comments about Valvoline Power Steering Fluid (1 Gallon):

It's a great product and in the gallon jug it's a really good value. I wanted the bigger size to flush the entire system. Had enough for 2 cars at least. Way cheaper than buying the small bottles at $6-8 each.

Another great deal plus Valvoline quality. I flushed my power steering system which will prolong the seals and valves in the pump and rack.

Great product for flushing out your power steering system.

You can mix this with acetone in a 50/50% to make a great penetrating oil mixture.

Comments about Valvoline Power Steering Fluid (1 Gallon):

I bought 2 gallons of this to flush my power steering system before I installed a new power steering pump. (There were metal shavings in the system from the failing pump) It did not foam at all during the flush process or after the install of the new power steering pump and bleeding process. Other power steering fluids that I have used have foamed like crazy. If that happens you then have to wait until the foam settles before you can continue the bleeding process. The fluid not foaming saved me time.

I noticed that advance has answered that this is compatible with Chrysler 5931. I bought this, it lists 5391 on container, but not 5931. I believe I need 5931 (04883077) for a 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited, 4.7 HO. It had red fluid in the reservoir and I needed to flush and change it to the correct fluid that is suppose to be amber. This is clear. Please check if this is correct fluid for me.

              A:

I'm happy to help, Pamm! Both Valvoline products, Maxlife Power Steering Fluid and Valvoline Power Steering Fluid will work fine in the 5931 application. Also we can suggest Maxlife ATF or Chrysler ATF+4 to meet that specification. The color does not matter. It is the base chemistry and additives that will alter color in fluids.

I'd be happy to help you with that! My fluid catalog shows your vehicle to take Dexron VI ATF [automatic transmission fluid] or equivalent. This fluid is not correct for that application. I recommend double checking your owner's manual or with the dealership to confirm the fluid specifications.
