It's GEAR OIL.

It does what it's supposed to. And with the additive (NOT the Tim Leary stuff... Limited Slip Differential Additive) already in it, it saves you a few bucks.

Dealer wanted $100 to change MDX transfer case fluid. LOL, it uses 1/2 a quart and literally takes about 10 minutes to change. Open fill plug. Open drain plug, fluid comes out. Put drain plug back in. Fill with fluid until it comes out the fill plug hole. Put in fill plug, done.

          • Q:

Hi, I am trying to find suitable gear oil for my 1967 Ford F-100. It has a Borg-Warner T-18 4 speed transmission and the manual recommends 80w-90 gear oil but I have read online that GL5 rated gear oil can be corrosive to the yellow metals in these older transmissions. Do you have a compatible product that I can use with my truck?

            Thanks

Hi there Mike! Happy to help! For the rear end it is recommended to use 80W-90 or 85W-90 GLS-5. If you have the Limited Slip use 80W-90 or 85-91 GL-50 for Limited Slip Axles. That said this Valvoline High-Performance gear oil should work for you with no issue.
