Comments about USA Industries Constant Velocity Axle Assembly:

Broken clamp on rebuilt unit. No way this should have made it past quality control. Boots were flimsy. New ones are not offered on line, so discounts do not apply. Bought new ones for about $15 more. Clearly superior product.

This was installable but one inch shorter than OEM causing the boots to stretch. Within 100 miles both boots tore. Very poor quality. DO NOT BUY!

Bad CV joint out of the box

Comments about USA Industries Constant Velocity Axle Assembly:

This axle had a bad CV Joint out of the box. To their credit, Advance Auto accepted as a return even though it had been installed. Save yourself the hassle and buy the new axle Advance offers for only $10 more! That is, unless you like doing things twice...

cheap boots and shorter than OE

Comments about USA Industries Constant Velocity Axle Assembly:

Got this for a '96 civic (passenger side). Had to return 2 of them after the boot rips (less than 4 months use for both). 1st one, the inner boot split and was totally dry rotted, 2nd one - outer boot split. This axle is also not to OEM spec - was about an inch shorter, but it worked. The boots are just super cheap material and not made to last at all. I've not had this problem with aftermarket axles in the past. I can't recommend it and would advise to compare length with your OE part, as well as boot quality - prior to purchase.

Comments about USA Industries Constant Velocity Axle Assembly:

Don't forget to take the locking ring off the tranny end of the old axle and install it on the new one! The instructions don't say anything about it, and it's easy to miss. This locking clip is what holds the axle into the tranny.

Ordering parts on Advance Auto is a breeze. I order it, then pick it up. The part was ready for me in
20 minutes when I arrived. My installation time was 60 minutes because I did my research and knew what I had to do, and it was my 4th replacement of a front drive axle. ( not on this car ). The last time I ordered online it took extra effort to get my core credit. This time I was credited core before I brought back the old one. So Advance auto needs some polish there. In terms of the part quality ... Its only been in for a month so all I can say is installation was good.

Part was 2 inches shorter than the one removed. I had to go back to Advanced for an alternative brand. Alternate installed fine and was the same length as my core.
