Tru-Torque Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

Part No. W37862 Warranty

See if this part fits a specific vehicle.

Check Vehicle Fit

Direct replacement Wheel Cylinders are designed to fit specific vehicle applications and to ensure a proper fit every time. Normal wear may cause piston seals to leak. Corrosion and pitting can also occur inside Wheel Cylinders as moisture builds up in the brake fluid. A leaky Wheel Cylinder can be dangerous to the driver, causing gradual softening of the brake pedal and creating brake pull to one side.

Product Features:
  • All Wheel Cylinders are made with high quality EPDM rubber cups and boots for long lasting performance
  • Wheel Cylinder bores are surface tested to ensure an optimum sealing surface for the pressure cups
  • Due to repair time and cost, it is more desirable to replace instead of repair Wheel Cylinders
  • Recommended replacement is suggested when servicing drum brake

I installed two of these in a '97 Cherokee, they fit great and work fine and I am happy with them. But it was a huge pain to bleed the brakes because of the crummy bleeder screws.

The bleeder screws are junk; too short, the crown is too small, and the metal is very soft. To bleed them easily you'll need to have some smaller diameter tubing handy to fit over the small crown on the end of the bleeder screw. The original dust covers do not stay on because the crown is too small to hold them.

I would have replaced the bleeder screws with the originals but the threading was not the same between the two cylinders so it was not possible.

So have some smaller diameter tubing ready to help you bleed them or hunt for some better replacement bleeder screws if you're going to buy these wheel cylinders to save you time bleeding the brake lines.

Great value, wheel cylinder easy to install and seems good. The only con was the bleed screw: too short to get a good grip on it with a wrench, and very soft.

Don't bother with a rebuild kit for your wheel cylinders. Just pay a few more bucks and replace them. They worked great and fit perfectly.

This part worked out great for me. My wheel cylinder was leaking bad on my Jeep cherokee, to the point that I had no brakes on my vehicle because all of the brake pressure was being diverted away to this leak. This new wheel cylinder did the trick and it was brand new and not rebuilt or remanufactured like so many other types of parts.

Installed this on my older wrangler after I ripped the rusted bleeder screw off the stock one. No problem with the bleeder screw here, easy installation, easy bleed, works fine.

Bought two, first one was perfect... Second one had a cut in the dirt seal... had to go back to the store to exchange it... first store didn't have another so had to drive to a second store... after which it was fine... Saw some complaints on other reviews about missing bleeder cover... I guess they didn't know re-use the line plug for the bleeder cover...
