There were two issues. Elimating the drain plug and using the temp sensor as the drain, it is not straight forward that an additional O seal(found on the plug that comes w/ the new rad.)is needed. Also the adapters for the automatic tranmission lines are to small, even with the supplied clips as tight as possible, fluid will still leak out. We cured this by installing the original clips just in front of the supplied clips, insuring a tight seal and hoses that would not pop off. Otherwise, the replacement was easy as pie. Even with the issues, it only took me about 2 hours, start to finish.

1. Ready-Rad Radiator does not have an internal seal seat for the fan switch and loose threads(sales associate recommended lots of Teflon tape). 2. The drain was eliminated and combined with the fan switch. 3. The transmission cooler hose connectors are smaller than the Camry's transmission lines and required two hose clamps to keep them from leaking. Other than that the fans, radiator hoses and the radiator itself fit great. I returned it the next day after finding one from another manufacture that was built correctly. Good luck

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

This radiator is a fit great! The only thing I had to do was break off 4 tiny tabs under the fan brackets so the fans would seat correctly. Looked like tabs from the plastic mold.

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

Used in a 2001 Camry, 2.2L, made in Japan. A minor mod was required. There are 2 "nipples" that on the bottom of the fans and drop into notches in the radiator frame. These fit, however the original fans have 2 additional tabs on each side of the "nipples". The small tabs drop into corresponding holes in the OEM radiator that are NOT part of this replacement. To make it fit, I simply broke off the tabs. The unit comes with the rad cap and drain plug.

    Not exact fit

    By John the non-Mechanic

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

Tough one radiator was not exact fit for 2000 Toyota Camry fan assembly. Instead of messing with it, took it back and went down the street to the other big auto parts store and their generic "Spectra" or something radiator for same price was exact fit.

This did not fit my 2000 Kentucky made 4 cylinder Camry. The bolt holes for the fan were off too much to work. Other than that, it was OK (did have all the appropriate stuff, and yes it did have a drain). I returned it and bought a Spectra Premium at another auto parts store and it fir perfectly. Hint: If buying a new radiator in the store, bring your old radiator fans for fitament! I did when I returned this one and bought the second one.

Purchased this on 2-17-14 for my 4 cylinder 2001 Camry. It was a perfect fit and easy to install. Took me a little over an hour and I'm not a mechanic by trade. This radiator had a drain plug where many who wrote reviews said theirs didn't. The transmission lines were the same size and fit nicely. Hopefully this one will last a few years. The original one lasted 13.

                    • Q:

Hello, I just bought a radiator P/N 432541. My car is a 1998 T. Camry with a 2.2 L engine. Its a 5 speed manual transmission. This new radiator has AT cooling lines. Will this new radiator work with my car? Can it be installed with out attaching anything to the cooling connecting line on the radiator?
Also, for the fan sensor, do I remove a bottom plug from the new radiator to install the sensor?

                        A:

I'm glad to assist, Mr. Wayne! The radiator for the automatic and manual transmission for your 1998 Toyota Camry 2.2L is the same. The automatic transmission cooler lines are not utilized and could be covered with vacuum line caps. The product lines will generally consolidate in the aftermarket since there is no need to make the same radiator without the oil cooler option.

Great question on the fan sensor! This tank is too shallow to accept the sensor fitting. Packed with the radiator will be an adapter to properly adjust for the longer style sensor.
