I purchased this radiator to replace the original in my 1998 Chevy K1500. I made the decision to purchase the Ready-Rad based on another that I had bought for my 1969 GTO a short time ago, which dropped right in and was almost a spitting image of the original Harrison unit. This is a great product for the money, especially considering all of the sub-standard off-shore parts that are available. This radiator was again nearly identical to the original with the exception of the transmission cooler line size, for which the correct adapters were included. Like a previous reviewer I needed to replace my oil cooler seals which were not included, but not a deal-killer by any means although I can see some inconvenience for those who do not have an o-ring assortment at their disposal.

There is a port below the radiator cap that is used on some vehicles to connect the heater hose to. The radiator comes with a non-reinforced rubber cap on this port for vehicles like mine that don't use this port. When the system is under pressure this rubber cap will swell. After a few months the rubber cap cut on the hose clamp it was connected with. This would not have happened had there not been a not needed port or had a reinforced rubber plug been used. If you ca uses this port then your good, but if not buy from a different manufacture. I will never buy another Ready-Rad product, because they cannot be trusted with quality.

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

I use this to cool the engine. I am not sure what all you want me to say. The radiator circulates the coolant in my engine so that my truck does not overheat. I am very happy about that because it is very difficult to drive a mile then wait until the engine cools down enough to drive another mile. Things that are not so great is writing a four hundred character comment about a radiator. This part if the review is not very helpful and I do not believe anyone will even read it. I can't believe I made it.

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

This radiator is for my older pick up truck, has a automatic transmission cooler, coolant and oil cooler in the same unit seems like a well-built piece. It was easy to install and came with extra fittings if needed for the oil cooler lines would definely buy again if I needed one. Only issue is the radiator cap is very tight(hard to turn to put on or take off cap).

I bought this as a replacement for the original radiator. The full installation took about an hour, including draining and refilling the fluids. This radiator comes with all parts necessary for matching your oil and transmission cooling requirements. This radiator not only fixed my leak but the engine runs on average, 10 degrees cooler than before. even while towing. I've had it in for about a month with no problems whatsoever.
