This was a replacement for a blown axle on my wife's Honda Civic. It was more cost-effective to simply replace the entire assembly, as the joint was beyond repair. There wasn't any problem with the product; it was a great price, simple to install, readily available at a nearby store, and an exact fit for the OEM component. I've put a few thousand miles on it since replacement, and it performs to standard. The boots seem sturdy enough to last for another 100k (only see rain here in Florida)

This is a better alternative to those that require "core charges", because scrap metal pays.

I bought this because it was the only one on Advance's site that showed a balancer ring in the image, but it didn't have one when I got home and opened the package. If I knew this I would have just bought the cheaper one. I checked I would recommend to a friend because it is what it is, an economy axle.

Hi Turk, glad to assist you! The CV shafts (usually the longer shaft) may feature a rubber damper on the main shaft, between the inner and outer joints. The purpose of this dynamic damper is to absorb vibrational forces (balance and harmonics). To check the exact fit application for the ToughOne New CV Axle Shaft Assembly (Part No. NCV36516), please provide us the year, make, model and engine size of your vehicle.

I have a 95 civic LX 1.5 ltr eng w/o abs. Is this a universal part that will work or did I get the wrong vc axle?

This is not the universal part, it is the exact part that fits your vehicle application.

Would a bad cv axle have anything to do with my car idling weird? (i.e. it's idling at 1500 rpm or more instead of 500 rpm like normal) I have a hole in the cv axle boot and know it needs to be replaced but curious to as if thats causing the abnormal idling....

No, CV axle has nothing to do with the car idling. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

I have a 94 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe with ABS. Will this axle work with it? Your Fenco axle states that it works with ABS but this one makes no mention in the description.
