Have a 95 Explorer old blower motor was acting up. Ordered this one online. Was a little bit of a pain to get it on due to everything under the hood is compact. Lost some of the bolts/screws when I took the old one out. Wish they would include the few cents worth of screws that would be nice! Wish they would give you a new fan with the new motor but not too big of a deal unless of course your fan is broke too. This blower fit perfect had it on in no time really. Turned on the heater and it was super hot in no time! Over all good!

I don't care that it doesn't come with a sealing gasket as much as they don't list the part so you can buy one. The impeller wheel is available separately, why not the gasket? In most cases the gasket is deteriorating and a real pain to deal with. A fresh gasket would make a more professional and more efficient repair.

Comments about ToughOne Flanged Vented CW Blower Motor w/o Wheel:

Blower fan for 2000 Ford explorer. This was an exact fit and came with a new retainer ring. The old one comes out easier than the new one goes in! The window washer fluid and radiator overflow tank must be moved to install but it will come out without doing this. And why Ford made this the way they did, I don't know? Also they made two of the bolts 10 millimeter and two of them 11 millimeter just to make you have to go back to the tool box! The part and service from Advanced Auto was excellent though. Part was on the counter waiting when I got there!

This is a good replacement blower motor. The only thing I can complain about is that it doesn't come with a seal like the oem blower motor has on it. I just reused the old seal.

Comments about ToughOne Flanged Vented CW Blower Motor w/o Wheel:

I was a little concerned that the blower fan was not included, as I had read that one person busted the fan when switching out the blower motor. This was a false concern in that the fastener that holds on the fan popped right off the old blower, and there is a new fastener provided with the new blower. The video on u tube for doing the replacement was a big help. I would have never gotten the air cleaner box out with out it. The video made the job a half hour one rather than a half day one. This blower really work well in our hot Texas summer heat.

I just bought a '99 Explorer XLT, and I noticed a weird and obnoxious noise coming from my center console for rear heat control. The best way to describe it is an elephant blowing its trunk, continually. I was wondering is it the blower in there going bad or what? It's so bad that it vibrates the center console and it must be off. If it's the blower motor how easy is it to replace?

                      A:

It is likely one of the front pulleys, tensioner or the pan motor gone bad. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.

The blower motor is located on the firewall on the passenger side of the vechicle just behind and a little below the windshield wiper water resivoir. It's secured by 4 small bolts a vent house and the power plug. It slides out with the fan blade attached.

Check for 12-volts at the blower motor. If 12 volts is present, replace the blower motor. If not, check for a faulty relay or fan switch. in order to help you install a blower motor would need the exact year make model and engine size of your car/truck

If there is 12 volts at the cabel going to the blower and the blower does not turn or if when 12 volts is applied to the leads and the motor hesitates before it starts to spin or bearings are squelling the blower motor should be replaced. Replacing is easy. Install new motor just as old is removed.
