Comments about ToughOne Engine Jaw Grip Filter Wrench:

I bought it to change the oil filter on 2010 Chevy Traverse. It is not the best wrench to use there. The filter was put on too tight by the previous shop, and this wrench wouldn't budge it. My son-in-law used a plier type filter wrench and it came off immediately. This might be a decent wrench, just not for my vehicle.

Comments about ToughOne Engine Jaw Grip Filter Wrench:

As others have said, this is basically useless in tight spots. In my 2001 PT Cruiser, where there's plenty of room around the filter, it was useable. It bothered me that it needed even more room to rotate before it applied torque to the filter to twist it off (probably because it couldn't get a good grip on my Mobil 1 filter).

However, in my dad's Suzuki Grand Vitara it was simply impossible to place, let alone get a grip, in the tight area where the filter is. One has to keep the two grip points at the center of the filter for it to be of any use, and I barely could slip it over the top portion (and it *was* a small Purolator filter). And even if I were able to wrap the jaws around the filter, it needs plenty of room before it starts applying torque (since it kind of slips at first). Bottom line: impossible to use with vehicles like Grand Vitara.

I replaced this tool with the "Performance Tools Small Oil Filter Pliers" (part no. W54310), and it now lies forgotten at the bottom of my old toolbox. Not only is the W54310 easier to position in tight areas, but the grip on the filter is MUCH much better, and it costs just $4 more.

this is may be good for big filters but not for small filters . its difficult to place in tight area to make grip since it should keep the two grip points between center of the filter. i bought this for my honda crv and failed to remove the filter

Comments about ToughOne Engine Jaw Grip Filter Wrench:

The product didnt give enough room to loosen the oil filter so i was able to remove it by hand. I wont say that its a bad product because i can tell it would be useful if needed.
