I had difficulty finding what I needed for changing the manual transmission fluid in my pickup truck. Finding a pump to get the new fluid out of the container and into the transmission is difficult.
I came across this unit and figured it would work perfectly.
Well the description says that it works great for gallon containers, but there are adapters for quarts and pints. My truck needed 2 quarts of fluid.
I insert the adapter into the pump (the pump itself is too wide to fit into a quart container) and started pumping. Not the smoothest functionality, but it was working...until the adapter fell off the bottom of the pump and into the quart container. I had to cut the top off the quart container to get the adapter out, and proceeded to pump the rest of the fluid into the transmission.
Same thing happened with the 2nd quart, so there needs to be a way to secure the adapter in the pump.
And it should also be noted that, unless you put your vehicle up in the air, there's no way you can get the container and the pump under the vehicle. The hose is 3 feet long which is not enough to reach outside of the vehicle.
The one good thing is that the nozzle has a clip on it to keep it from coming out of the fill-hole. But DON'T PUSH IT IN TOO FAR or else you won't be able to get it back out.
Not a fan of this item, but it did do what I needed it to do.

it works, that's about it. attempted to use it on a gallon size gear oil tube and wouldn't close which it said it's made to work on gallon sizes. as for the quart size gear oils, it works only if you cut off the top part of the bottle.

Comments about ToughOne Engine Fluid Lubricant Pump:

I needed a fluid transfer pump to add 4 quarts of ATF into my car's tranny. This is a once per 100k mi maintenance item, so I don't expect to keep this pump long enough to use it again. It is clearly a cheaply made pump, but at $5 it gets the job done and didn't give me any trouble. Between fluid and the pump I saved $70 doing this myself. Fine by me.

Comments about ToughOne Engine Fluid Lubricant Pump:

Pump was difficult to pump. I took it apart and foung the seal twisted in the spring. After placing the seal back on the plunger it still didn't pump. Two steel balls fell out when I took the pump apart. There was no assembly diagram on the packaging and it was several days later that I got the balls into their correct position to allow the pump to work. Too late to use the pump for the job.
Also it only fits gallon bottles not the quarts (8) that I needed to use it for.

I was replacing the front and rear diffs fluids on my 03 Tahoe. Bought this pump to ease the fluid transfer to the axles but it didn't do a good job. After about 15mins with half the quart still left, decided to buy a diff one from [@]. That one worked like a champ. xtransfered all the fluids in less than 5mins. May be I had a bad pump??
