  • Q:

How much oil is added to the compressor at the factory? How much oil the A/C system need for F150 1991 4.9?
Asked on 2/15/2016 by jose from Naguabo ,Puerto Rico

Hi Jose, happy to help you! Drain any oil shipped in compressor used for lubrication during shipping only, and add the proper amount of PAG oil. Oil must be added through the fill bolt of the compressor, when applicable. After everything has been installed, use your hand or a spanner wrench to rotate the clutch 10 to 15 times before you turn the system on. This will clear the system of lubricants. When it comes to repairs and maintenance it is always recommended to refer the vehicle owner's manual for the exact specifications to get better and safer results.
