Comments about ToughOne AC Compressor with Clutch:

This is my first big purchase with AAP in many years. I endured the constant alternator swaps of the 90s until I sold that vehicle. I vowed then to steer clear of AAP products. Even a lifetime alternator warranty doesn't make up for 2 or 3 swaps a year. I digress. This compressor looks good out of the package and goes in as you would expect. The mounting holes are quite big so it's up to you to determine proper belt alignment. I slid mine all the way forward and that looked the best. I previously flushed the lines, replaced o-rings. Once installed, I pulled a deep vacuum and instilled 32oz of 134a. The a/c is cooling like when it was new but at a cost. The noise! You hear every click of the clutch and a constant warble when the clutch is engaged and the compressor is working. Frankly it's annoying as heck. It technically works and I will overlook it for now in hopes it will subside. After all I don't want to redo the job and I'm sure I would not get comped for my labor and materials. I hope this piece will last but it certainly doesn't sound like it.

Wasn't a Chrysler prod., but works great

Comments about ToughOne AC Compressor with Clutch:

The unit was a little noisy on start up, but smoothed out the second day. The 4 main hold down boltholes where a little over enlarged, but had no problems mounting compressor. Compressor came shipped with 6.5 oz. of refrigerant oil, saved a couple bucks there. All in all, this is a great product for replacing the original Chrysler unit and it came with 2-year warranty.
