Everyone says how good these bulbs are, but take it from a person that when through 15+ burn outs in less than 7 years.... They do not last.

I used silverstar in my 03 Mazda P5, shortly after buying the vehicle new. Even though they were expensive, I thought having better lights was worth it. They worked well. Kinda a pain to install in the P5, especially the passenger side, but that is not the bulbs issue, but Mazda's.

The bulbs would burn out almost like clock work after about 6 months. I thought there was something wrong with my electrical system during the first few years. But after switching to the cheaper bulbs I found that it was the Silverstar bulbs that were the issue. The cheaper Sylvanias lasted over 2.5 years.

Don't listen to the people saying the reason for the low lifespan is due to the bulbs being touched by skin, that is not what happened to me with my bulbs. I do know what the issue is... Stiff suspensions

My mazda has an aftermarket suspension at it is stiffer than most cars. If you have a stiff suspension, DO NOT GET SILVERSTARS! Or you will be replacing them twice a year like me.

Also, Sylvania knows of the issues with the bulb, originally, they did not include the message on the package commenting on the short lifespan, it was added shortly before I stopped using them. But they still promise a 12 month lifespan. I never seen close to that.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar TWIN Halogen Headlight:

The color temperature better matches the temperature of the OEM HID headlamps on the 2012 Genesis R-Spec sedan. Installation can be somewhat difficult as it requires some removal of surrounding engine accessories to gain access to the lamp holders (or try someone with very small hands). Need some H8 Silverstars for the fog lamps.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar TWIN Halogen Headlight:

I replaced 3 sets of these bulbs in 6 months. They burn out very fast. These were installed on my 2006 Saab 9-3. I have now switched from Sylvania completely as I no longer trust the brand. I installed a set of EIKO headlamps that use 55 watts as opposed to 70 for the Sylvania. Therefore they do not run as hot which is better for the life of the bulb. The filament is made of tungsten which adds to the durability of the bulb as well. The set costs $13 less and I could tell right away that they were even brighter than the expensive Sylvania brand bulbs.

Brighter than the lights I replaced, but not as bright as I thought they might be. I did not opt for the Ultra or zXe's for the extra $$$, but would consider it next time. Easy to replace on the Audi A4, as would be expected. As always with new bulbs, make sure you do no touch the glass, as any hand oils or dirt can cause early burnout....good luck

These are very good bulbs. I have been using them in my Subarus for a number of years. When there is a discount, the price is decent too. I do wish they lasted a bit longer. I typically get 1 to 1 1/2 years. I did not knock off stars for that though since I often leave my headlights on (they turn off automatically when the car is turned off) and it has a chart right on the box that shows the life is short versus other bulbs. It's a trade off for brighter bulbs.

Purchased a set, installed them and originally provided very good visablity. The big problem is they die within one year. I have replaced them 2x both less than a year and just went back to the normal headlamps. Hopefully these last longer.
They will provide more light but be aware they die out very fast

Used these in my Mazda CX-7 and they were definitely brighter than the standard halogen bulbs they replaced. However, one of them burnt out in <1 yr (about 10k miles, with the headlights on only some % of that). Sylvania states a 12 month guarantee on the packaging so I called (still had the receipt luckily) and they sent me a new 2-pack after reminding me that with higher performance comes shorter life. That said, I'll keep using them for the added brightness.

Out of two headlights, one went out in 6 months and the second one went out about two months later for a total of 8 months. Package claims 12 months of complete satisfaction so I am going to try and ask Customer Service for a replacment. However, they are only available in the day time (9 to 5 or something like that) making it harder for me to contact them unless I take some time off from work.
