Perfect fit for the Polaris 800 engines. Cheaper than replacement. WHen dealership is 30 miles away, and auto parts is only 4, it pays to do some research.

Comments about Stant Superstat Premium Thermostat, 192 Degrees Fahrenheit:

I BOUGHT THIS PART FOR MY 2001 CAVALIER 2.2 ENGINE, CAR WAS OVERHEATING BERFORE CHANGE THIS PART. INSTALLED THE NEW THERMOSTAT AND CAR STILL OVERHEATING... CHANGE WATER PUMP, RADIATOR AND CAP, AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS AND WAISTE OF MONEY, I REALIZE THE NEW THERMOSTAT WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL, PART WAS DEFECTIVE AND DIDN'T OPEN SO CAR STILL OVERHEATING. BOUGHT A ACDELCO OEM AND NOW CAR RUNS GREAT.

Comments about Stant Superstat Premium Thermostat, 192 Degrees Fahrenheit:

Note - this is a 180 F temperature thermostat (even stamped on the back) even though it's listed as 192 F - check the Stant site for the part number to verify for yourself.

Replaced a still functioning Stant standard 180F when doing a recent radiator flush and fill. Opens and works as expected. Not much else to say at this time - just hope it lasts the 7+ years the standard Stant lasted (and was still working).

        • Q:

Why does the description say that this thermostat is a 192 degree F thermostat, when it is supposed to be a 180 degree F thermostat? Which is it? Please get your web people to correct/edit the title/description as soon as possible! Also, does this thermostat include the rubber gasket/sealing o-ring? As I recall, most (if not all) Stant brand thermostats are supposed to include the gasket and/or seal, but it doesn't state either here on the website listing. Thanks for your time.

Any liquid-cooled car engine has a small device called the thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat in most cars is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.
