Comments about Spectre Air Intake Kit:

This is the third cold air filter I have used on a vehicle, the first from this company, and my last. The initial fit was problematic at the bottom support bracket for the air tube, but not impossible. However it caused the weld to fail over time and completely destroy the entire unit, both air tube and filter, through vibration. Appears to be poor quality compared to others!

Comments about Spectre Air Intake Kit:

two minor issues with the kit. The upper intake clamps are oversize and I had to use the ugly stock clamp to get a tight fit. The sheild around the filer impacted the hood rib so I had to cut it and bend a flap to allow the hood to seat correctly. I completed the install with mods in 2 hrs. Love the look and the sound is AMAZING! I noticed the added power on the first incline. Very nice. My MPG is unchanged, but it was better than EPA before. Driving style does matter!

Comments about Spectre Air Intake Kit:

I drive a Tacoma V6 that gets poor mileage and marginal performance. I installed the Spectre intake system and can feel the difference in power from mid-range RPM and up. I haven't checked mileage yet, but it has to help. I may go to a low restriction muffler to compliment the intake, if I can find one that doesn't make a lot of noise. That may be a contradiction in terms, I know. Very easy to install system and instructions were clear (not poorly translated from some foreign language). Way cheaper than the famous name brand and I think it is just as good. By the way, Advance doesn't stock the cleaner and oil kit in the local store, but the famous name brand kit is compatible. I recently saw an auto clinic on TV and one cause of sensor failure (particularly MAF) was from over-oiling this type of filter, so beware. I recommend this to anyone with a few wrenches and a screw driver.
