    Comments about Spectre Differential Cover:

I ran over some rough terrain and had a dent and small leak with my factory cover, so I decided to give this one a try. This cover looked great out of the box and had a decent gasket with it. The cover looks great and appears to be as durable as the OEM cover. Went on with ease and made an improved visual appearance to the rear diff on my 1991 Suburban. I am thinking of changing my front now!

    Comments about Spectre Differential Cover:

i bought this even though i knew nothing about it...but it came in the mail and it looks good, its all chrome and ive gotten compliments on it(???) very strange but
my other one(original) was cracked and was nasty. this is a fairly simple job. the hard part is scraping the old gasket off mine was melted on there and also figuring out how much gear lube you need. the only thing i didnt like about this was i used 9 of the chrome bolts(all of which were shorter than original but worked) and i had to reuse 1 of the nasty bolts because it held something to the diff. overall i think if you need a cover/gasket you should get this one.

    • Q:

How are you supposed to fill the diff with oil when there's no fill plug? The picture shows a fill plug, my factory cover has a fill plug, why doesn't the new one have a fill plug?

        A:

I'm happy to help, Mike! I understand your frustration with the cover image not matching the product. This image was provided by Spectre and I have checked and they do now have an updated image. I will make sure that we get this image updated.

If you are dissatisfied with the product, I suggest returning it to your local store with your receipt. Spectre does have a differential cover for the GM 10-bolt axle available for 1977-1991 Chevy/GMC Pickup/Suburban 1/2-3/4 ton four wheel drive front differentials, Part No. 6077 or Part No. 60779.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We try very hard to keep our site up to date and we must have missed this item. Thank you again for helping us correct this image.
