I am just smoking at this point......"They know its defective" was told Spectra is looking into it! Yeah Right, this oil pan as with the other 2 Bad reviews and same problem was installed on my 98 dodge 2500 Dodge ram truck, It also knocks from engine, when i called to complain i got the run around for 4 hours with 4 different people starting at the store i picked it up, they said its an online order so i would have to contact online service since then i have spoke to Corporate headquarters and still have not gotten any Satisfaction just a lot of lies, this company does not care after they make the sale, I am out of [$] so far and still have no truck because I am still in limbo as to what they are going to do about this problem. "OH will call you, like the check is in the mail" There is not enough room for me to explain the 4 hours of being jerked around that I have already gotten. its time to file with the federal trades commission! "OH" by the way mostly all I have spoken to where [*]. so much for American company Service.

Comments about Spectra Premium Oil Pan:

not bad to install, side clearance did not interfer with installation but was a little upset when i was done installing the product and having already seen the hitting problem in the reviews, that the problem has not been addressed. if the problem was addressed why are these oil pans still on shelves and not pulled already. not a easy job to start with then to have to remove again because of a known problem. in this industry we the mechanics have to modify alot of parts to make them work. so if you say exact fit, make sure they do.

Comments about Spectra Premium Oil Pan:

This pan is an acceptable replacement for the OEM pan. The pan flange on the passenger side is slightly wider than stock and therefore interferes with the motor mount on that side. One must slightly roll back the lip of that flange at the motor mount location by approx .125" then the pan fits fine. Bolt hole alignment is acceptable. The pan had no interference problems with the crankshaft.

the pan was a bit wider then the normal pan maybe .040 and i had difficulty getting to bolt by the engine mount other then that miner problem is good pan could of just been my mount but i doubt it.

Comments about Spectra Premium Oil Pan:

Like the other people have commented, it doesn't work. The crank rubs on it. Waste of time and money. Buy a different brand if you can find one.

Comments about Spectra Premium Oil Pan:

The paint does not cover the entire oil pan and as soon as it was installed there was am immediate knock coming from the pan. After feeling the pan with the engine running i felt the crankshaft hitting the bottom of the pan. I pulled the pan off and sure enough there was a rub mark in the pan and metal filings in the oil and probably all through the engine at this point. Extremely bad stamping by spectra. DONT BUY IT!!!!!!

Comments about Spectra Premium Oil Pan:

First the anti corrosive paint is not coated fully on the inside of the pan. It was somewhat difficult to install but that was not the main problem. My Main problem was with the pan itself. I don't know if it was from a bad stamp or what but I started the truck up and it instantly began to make a knock. So I end up spending an additional 425 bucks to have it towed and have my mechanic look at it. We both though that maybe one of the bearings went bad. Turns out that the pan is so poorly stamped and specked that the crankshaft was hitting the new oil pan when the engine was running. So Instead of saving 100 to have someone else do it i end up spending 420 plus another 100 for the parts.
