It's definitely better than conventional or synthetic blend, but it's not the best oil out there. It's a Class III oil, not a Class IV. Needs to be 100% synthetic to be a Class IV, full synthetics are not 100% synthetic. Would use in an emergency but will go back to Amsoil which I consider significantly better and it's guaranteed for 25,000 mile oil change intervals.

Comments about Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 Heavy Duty Fully Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Gallon):

I prefer to use the Rotella T (Dino oil) in my motorcycles, but I ride all winter in PA on my Goldwing, and the 15-40 is a bit heavy for winter use. Therefore, I decided to kive the T6 Full synth 5W-40 a shot since it should flow more easily when first started and in very cold conditions. The T6 also does not list friction modifiers so it should be safe for my wet clutch.
I am not going to recommend it unless you need it for winter use as I stated, instead I recommend the Rotella-T.

Comments about Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 Heavy Duty Fully Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Gallon):

I have a 2001 F250 SD. After changing my oil with the Rotella full synthetic, I immediately noticed it running quieter. It's been about two weeks now. My truck did smoke a little when first starting. Now it starts much easier and no smoke! I HIGHLY recommend this oil. THANK YOU, ROTELLA!

after I reserched oils for my truck, (ford 350, 6.0 Liter), I chose this synthetic oil. I do not drive this truck very often, about 6000 miles a year, and need the oil not to break down due to non-use. I feel confident that this oil will last in the truck for at least 10,000 miles or a year and a half.

I run this in everything, both gas and diesel. Heavy duty enough to go longer normal. Yet its 5W cold weight is perfect for cold starts and quick pumping to vital parts when thicker oil would be harder to move.

Comments about Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 Heavy Duty Fully Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Gallon):

I'm a driver that pulls small and large loads with a 2013 F-350 6.7L powerstroke across the country. This oil has added more miles between changes and helped on my fuel mileage as well. It pays for itself if you do a lot of driving. I would also say that because of the wide range of temp. range 5W-40. You'll have no need to change grades as the seasons change if you were to follow the owners guide for the type of use you may do with your truck such as me. The name Shell has been used in the fleet from which I retired from after 40+ yrs. with no engine problems from lube failure. So that sold me on this product. Hope you do your research first as I did.
              Thanks!!!

Great heavy-duty synthetic that is compatible with Gas engines. My car takes 5W-30 but the heavy 5W-40 makes the 2.0L n/a engine feel smoother (which is a trick used by shifty car dealers by the way). Had hoped the heavier oil would also fix the oil burning, which it did not, but there must be other issues with my car's engine. I know I said it's pricey but if you wait for a sale its worth the investment.

Comments about Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 Heavy Duty Fully Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Gallon):

Motorcycles with wet-clutches can NOT use oil with friction reducers (like molleys). This oil has worked great in my Suzuki for over 50,000 miles. It lasts longer than regular before breaking down.

Plus being 5w it keeps my engine lubed earlier and longer than heavier oils. Critical because the worst wear is the first couple seconds before the oil gets completely distributed inside the engine.

Plus, not least, it is significantly cheaper than oils "made" for motorcycles - really just packaged for motorcycles.

Hi Sonny, great question! Shell Rotella T5 oils are synthetic blend products and Shell Rotella T6 oil is fully synthetic products. Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic Oils generally offer higher performance, but currently, Shell Rotella T5 Synthetic Blend Oils are available in more viscosity grades.

Great question, Roy! Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 is a great choice for your 2004 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. According to the specifications for your vehicle you would want to use an oil meeting CF-4 or CG-4 specifications. Those particular American Petroleum Institute grades are now obsolete and CJ-4 is the most recent specification (which Rotella T6 is). According to API CJ-4 grade oil exceeds the performance of CF-4 and CG-4 and will effectively lubricate the engine. A:

This Shell Rotella® T6 5W-40 part# 550019921 should work fine on your 2008 Lexus IS350, since it is designed for virtually all four-stroke engines. However, I would suggest you to refer your vehicle owner's manual and use the exact motor oil recommended in it.
