      A:

This Sealed Power Camshaft (Part No. CS-1569) is the correct part for your 1995 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1L. The camshaft might not have resulted in the rocker problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

If you replace the camshaft, it is recommended to replace the lifters as well due to the wear patterns that are formed when an engine in turning.

    • A:

I always replace the lifters if the cam goes bad for ANY reason, because damage is almost ALWAYS done to the lifters. It's a metal to metal relationship, and the lifters "break-in" to the cam. It's good insurance when you consider the hassle of taking it all apart again to replace them later.

    • A:

Yes you should NEVER EVER use lifters from one camshaft with another camshaft. After running only a few hours each lifter becomes mated to the lobe of the camshaft it is running on. Reusing your old lifters will ruin your new camshaft.
