I was getting error codes indicationg faulty hydraulic controls in my transmission. Transmission would sometimes fail to shift into third gear, leaving the engine racing. In my 2001 Honda Odyssey this means you need a new transmission. I changed my transmission fluid and added this product (half a can) and the problem subsided. I repeated this procedure, and the transmission is almost flawless. Check engine light is staying off.
Please note: my problem was a Hydraulic Control issue--it was not slipping. This product does not help or harm seals. It does not stop leaks. It removes the sticky varnish that can hinder the operation of solenoids and valves inside your transmission. Well worth the money.

Had a power steering unit on a 97 Mustang which had stiff steering when turning right. After using this product as a last chance effort before flushing and replacing a rack unit, it did not cure the problem. I did not expect it to but a few testimonials on youtube stated it cleaned and cured their problem. It did appear to remove a lot of gum and varnish as the red atf became murky after running the engine for 30 minutes and turning lock to lock every 5 mins. It's worth a try but don't expect miracles or a cure all when a unit may be defective.

1999 Mazda Protégé 1.6L Automatic Trans.

For the last year or two, when putting my car in drive or reverse, it would take several seconds before it would begin pulling. Lately it has gotten worse. I searched the internet and read about this product. I'm not crazy about adding anything but transmission fluid to my transmission, but decided I had nothing to lose at this point. I poured the full bottle in and immediately drove the car several miles. The next day, if felt a little hesitation when putting in drive, but not too bad. After driving the car several days, I no longer feel any hesitation at all. I can hardly believe that this really worked so well. I believe that valves in the valve body were sticking and that this product dissolved the material that had built up causing this problem.

Comments about Sea Foam Trans Tune Transmission Treatment (16 oz.):

I put this in my 06 Impala with 210,000 miles. We've had trouble on and off with this tranmission for 100,000 miles. However, it started doing something new: it was sticking when sifting and shifting hard in the higher gears. I was sceptical that this would do much, but I had nothing to loose. I dumped in the trans tune and drove it about 60 miles with part of that on the highway. When I got home, I pulled the dipstick and saw that the fluid was darker. I switched out the fluid with Valvoline maxlife (which is what I have been using and it works pretty good), put on a new filter, and added one bottle of Lucas trans fix (which I have used before and it certianly helped). Once done, I drove down the road making sure to let it all circulate and go through all the gears. I noticed that it was shifting smoother and cleaner than it had in my memory and the only thing I did differently this time was use the transtune. So good that I'm sold on it and going to try thier other products.

Comments about Sea Foam Trans Tune Transmission Treatment (16 oz.):

My 98 Nissan Altima was shifting slow 1-2 when cold and harsh 2-1 at stops. Also, delayed and harsh 3-2 and slow into R. Half a bottle of TransTune and the shifting was twice as crisp within a few miles. A week later, I poured in the rest and shifting got better again. Now my 1-2 shifts are twice as fast at lower rpms, and my 2-1 hard shifts at stops is 75% gone. Shift into R is fast. 3-2 is quick and painless. Before the TransTune, I was about to give up, too, because I'd already tried drain and fill with MaxLife ATF a few months earlier, but that didn't improve things much. Now I look for excuses to drive my "new" car.

I've used this product in my 04 ford Taurus with 4f50n transmission. Was having problems with slow and sometimes erratic shifts. added half a bottle to transmission before fluid and filter change. I ran my car for about 30 minutes making sure it shifted into every gear. At first started noticing even more erratic shifting problems. so dropped the pan and drained all 14.5 quarts out the transmission. after refilling with Castrol mercron v transmission topping it off added the other half of seafoam to the transmission. Noticed overtime the transmission started shifting better with no hesitation into gears. 20k miles later did another flush, filter change, and filled with just Castrol mercron v. No longer do I have any transmission problems. Thank you seafoam trans tune.

My 2003 Safari van has 125,000 miles on it. It began shifting VERY HARD from first to second. I added the trans treatment. Drove 8 miles to the mechanic who changed out the trans fluid. I couldn't believe it. IT WORKED. Shifts just like new again. This Sea Foam product worked so good I am going to try the gas treatment product next. I only tried it because of all the positive reviews even though the mechanic said that the only hope was to replace the valve body (?) etc. and leave him with several hundred bucks. This stuff works!!!

Hi Tom, glad to assist you! Unless the transmission contains an excessive amount of fluid, one pint (16 ounce can) is our recommended dosage amount when adding to auto transmission systems. Check your fluid amount before adding Hydra Trans Tune. Do not use with silicone fluids or CVT systems. For more information on this product, please copy and paste this link. This Seafoam Trans Tune is a great product to use for pre-flushing old fluid. Add up to one can of Trans Tune depending on your vehicle's transmission fluid level, then drive 5 to 100 miles before replacing your transmission fluid. - See more at: http://seafoamsales.com/how-to-use-trans-tune-in-transmissions-hydraulics-and-power-steering-systems/#sthash.nstuPc0g.dpuf

Trans Tune can be used as a long-term fluid conditioner as well as a pre-service cleaner. However, if the fluid is dark in color and smells burnt, a transmission fluid flush should be done soon. I'm happy to help, Dal! This Seam Foam Trans Tune Transmission Treatment (Part No. TT16) may or may not correct the overdrive problem you've been having with your 1999 Dodge Ram Extended Cab 5.9L. If you have not done a transmission fluid and filter change, that's usually a great first step.

Your truck uses approximately 10 quarts of ATF+4, such as CARQUEST Oil & Fluids ATF +4 Automatic Transmission Fluid (Part No. A104). The filter is available from Fram with Part No. FT1206A and Driveworks with Part No. DW-FK317.

A repair manual, such as Haynes Part No. 30041 or Chilton Part No. 20404, will provide additional specifications and procedures.

                    A:

Hi Curious, great question! When performing a transmission flush, add ½ can Trans Tune to the automatic transmission fluid before servicing. Drive for at least 30 minutes and run the engine through all gears. Trans Tune will slowly re-liquefy old ATF fluid residue deposits that can prevent valve bodies, governors, bands, pumps and solenoids from functioning normally. Perform the transmission flush and add 1/2 can Trans Tune to the fresh fluid to prevent future residue and moisture build up. Trans Tune can also be used with a transmission flush machine.
