It was great to get this at a great price (on sale). For vehicles that have been sitting or driven seldom it works to clear out the carbs. Good for preventive maintenance too and for winter storage. It can only do so much (it doesn't do miracles)but is my first line of defence against clogged carbs.Helpd FI too.

I just started using Seafoam in my engine oil and noticed a big difference during the initial treatment. I also noticed a significant improvement in gas mileage (74,000 miles on it when i started seafoam) after doing the gas treatment, in my truck since day 1 of my new truck purchase (I've never had better then 17.5 MPG and now I get almost 19 MPG).

The product works well, but the container is horrible. I tried both the small bottles and this large gallon container. The small bottles are just a lot easier to handle. With the large gallon container... I end up spilling 1/2 on the ground or the side of my vehicle and the other 1/2 some how manages to get where it needs to go.

I contacted seafoam and I have been told that they are re-designing the container in 6 months and we should see a new container in stores by the end of 2012.

The container also doesn't have a tamper proof seal on the top, so anyone can spill or steal some of the product in the store (hopefully that will be addressed in the new container design for the end of 2012)?

In short
* Great product
* Poor container

Recomendation:
* Made a difference for me (I would buy seafoam again)
* I would never buy the 1 gallon container, just stick with the small bottles of seafoam.

    Comments about Sea Foam Motor Treatment for Gas and Diesel Engines (128 fl. oz.):

    After seeing multiple reviews about how bad the metal can is and how much product spills, I thought they were just clumsy.With me being careful, a ton of the product ends up on the floor. Seems like a great design for Seafoam to sell more product. Buy ONLY if in Plastic container.

          Wifes car was getting service engine light due to something wrong with cathlitic converter (says nissan dealer). I put in 1 oz per gallon with 93 gas and the light has been off for 3 weeks and passed emissions. Also gas milage has improved a few miles per gallon. She travels 100 miles a day. Just put some in my truck and will be using Seafoam and Marine Stabil in my boat this summer.

              Comments about Sea Foam Motor Treatment for Gas and Diesel Engines (128 fl. oz.):

              This was recommended for an old 2-cycle boat motor that just didn't want to idle or run smoothly. After putting 16 ounces in the tank and 15 minutes of running it, the motor smoothed out. It also helped an old 4-cycle push mower, and I periodically add 16 ounces to all of my vehicles' gas tanks for good measure. When my old backpack blower starts running rough, I add a few drops to the tank and it clears up. I know it's supposed to help as a fuel stabilizer, but I use another product specifically for long term storage (Marine Sta-Bil). So far there have been no issues when using both products together. Sometimes you can find the 16 oz. can on sale, but buying the jug is a lot cheaper in the long run, plus you're more likely to have enough on hand for all your vehicles and equipment. This stuff is something of a miracle cure; some mornings when I wake up and feel my age, I consider adding a few drops to my coffee, but haven't yet.

                        A:

                        Hi Poncho, with reference to your inquiry on the Sea Foam Motor Treatment for Gas and Diesel Engines (128 fl. oz.) - part# SF-128, for two-cycle engines prepare your normal gasoline/oil fuel mix. Add 2 oz. of Seafoam per each gallon of fuel and for four-cycle engines, add 1 oz. of Seafoam per gallon of fuel to the fuel tank. It is best to do this when the fuel tank is nearly empty to ensure you get the proper Seafoam/fuel ratio. The Seafoam will dissolve residue in the fuel lines and carburetor jets.
