Great charger, got here just in time, left a light on in my car the night before and had a dead battery. Took it right out of the package and used the start mode option. Car started right up, didnt have to wait for it to charge like the old style chargers. Great price, more than satisfied. Thanks

Alright, should gone with automatic unit

Lacked current to start my car (RE Engine), but seems fine for other applications.

Comments about Schumacher 6<>2/40/200A 6V/12V Automatic Battery Charger:

I think I will get years of good service from this unit. I was looking for a combination of features that usually comes on machines that cost several times the price of this charger. Like everything it was a bit of a compromise...I wanted the versatility of 6 and 12 volts(so far so good), I wanted 2amp, 10amp, 40amp, and at least 150amp (for starting vehicle with seriously discharged battery). This unit has 3 out of 4 (it offers 6amp as opposed to the 10amp setting I was looking for). All In all, not too far from my original specs, so I decided to give it a try. So far I have used it once and it is very easy to use and does well.

Plenty of power to start my diesel, car, motorcycle, and boat. Keeps all batteries in top shape.
Very easy to use and store this light weight king of tools in my garage, it's quiet and works great for many projects around the house. Hell its safe enough for my neighbor to use ( hope he gets his own soon).
Also its a great battery tender year round for the bike, sled, or lawnmower.
Would make a nice gift for any mechanic in your family at a good price. The auto shutdown is a nice feature for added piece of mind and safety!

I was looking for a new charger online, my store had it on the shelf ready to go!

It'sTuff, Easy to use, should last me the rest of my life.
From my big Diesel truck, mowers, boat and as a battery tender for my bike, it's the only charger I'll ever need. I got all that piece of mind at a price that can't be beat!
Now I'm just waiting for my neighbor to get one so I can get mine back !!!

              Schumacher 200-amp manual battery charger

              By

              from Duncan, South Carolina

              Verified Buyer

Comments about Schumacher 6<>2/40/200A 6V/12V Automatic Battery Charger:

The Schumacher 200-amp manual battery charger that I purchased actually turned out to be a Fully Automatic charger instead of the manual version.
I don't know if that is better or worse. Since I like to do several projects at the same time, this makes it easy for me to charge a battery and not worry about over charging.
I've tried to start 2 different vehicles so far, one with success (4.0 Jeep Cherokee) and one without success (2003 Ford E350 Super Duty).
Subsequently charged the Jeep battery, presently charging the E350 van battery.
Two notes, the screws for the Handle will not fit the holes drilled and tapped for them, secondly, there are no instructions for assembly or operation. I suppose the operating manual has the warranty registration card. I am going to the website to see if there is an online registration available.
Otherwise, I have not used it enough to say it's good or bad. On the START function I am 50/50. It has charged my Jeep battery very nicely and I did not have to baby sit it!
              It is simple to operate.
I wish it had a couple of plastic or vinyl clamp bars for the clamps when not in use.
Still all in all Happy with the purchase.

Comments about Schumacher 6<>2/40/200A 6V/12V Automatic Battery Charger:

First off, one unexpected benefit to this charger is that it is light enough that it can be easily carried, thus allowing us to throw away the handle and wheels--which were junk.

We are using this for a little different use as we needed a 250A 12V power supply for our laboratory. So, we coupled this charger together with a battery. This is both the cheapest imaginable solution and it has absolutely no electrical nose.

On the downside, of the eight screws, only two were able to go into their holes. However, due to the light weight of the charger, this was not a problem, we simply carry it everywhere.

You'll need the Schumacher Automatic/Manual Traditional Deep Cycle Charger - Part No. SE-70MA for the Deep Cycle Battery, but we do not offer them online.
