Q:Sirs.....What is the difference between the Schumacher 2/6/10 Amp and the Schumacher 10 Amp/3 Amp Fully Automatic Battery Chargers? Is SC-1000A the model number for both?
A:Hi L.T, glad to assist you! This Schumacher 2/6/10 Amp 12-Volt Automatic Microprocessor Controlled SpeedCharge Charger (Part No. SC-1000A) has a 10-amp fast charge self-adjustment feature which monitors battery condition and adjusts charge rate to prevent battery damage to your car, truck marine and farm equipment, gel cell, and deep-cycle batteries. The 2-amp slow charge helps in charging small batteries and maintaining large ones for motorcycles, snowmobiles, and lawn tractor batteries. It has an easy to read digital meter which displays battery charge status and test results. It weighs 6-lbs and has a retractable handle for easier portability. It is also provided with self-stored cables, system testing capabilities, and electronic push button controls. Features: 10-amp Fast Charge, 6-amp Medium Charge, and 2-amp Slow Charge. Q:Connected to Batt then to wall outlet nothing no lites on unit outlet ok. Does this unit have a fuse and if so what size?
A:I'm glad to assist, Ray! The unit does not have fuse. Since you didn't mention the specific kind of battery you tried to use, it's hard to say. This is a charger for charging a LEAD-ACID battery only. It is not intended to supply power to a low voltage electrical system other than in a starter-motor application. Do not use this battery charger for charging dry-cell batteries that are commonly used with home appliances. Here is the link for the owner's manual, you can take a look on that for more information:
