Comments about Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W-50 Motorcycle or ATV Motor Oil (1 Quart):

I've used the Royal Purple 20W-50 for the last couple of oil changes on my ZRX. I'll go about 5000 miles between oil changes with this oil. No clutch or other issues using this opil. seems to be great stuff. I just wish it didn't cost so much

Do Not use in Air-cooled Engines

Comments about Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W-50 Motorcycle or ATV Motor Oil (1 Quart):

If you have a water/liquid cooled motorcycle, or ATV this oil may be a good choice. Do not use in aircooled engines where the possibility of overheating could happen. I recently had to completely rebuild a 127 c.I. Ultima Engine because this oil completely broke down due to overheating in a traffic jam. When I questioned Royal Purple about this, they stated that Synthetic Lubricants absorb and disperse heat, but must be cooled by an internal source within the engine. My engine, although having an oversized oil cooler, was only effective while the motorcycle was in motion. The overheating reduced the Royal Purple to the consistency of water with an equally ineffective lubricating capabilty. Over 1 quart actually came through the crankcase breather. Total cost of tow, rebuild, and repairs was $4536.98.

Comments about Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W-50 Motorcycle or ATV Motor Oil (1 Quart):

I have always trusted Royal Puple in all my cars and wondered if it would work in my wet clutch type bike. It does work and I have no problems. In fact the Bike is faster and runs cooler now and although the tappets need adjusting I really cannot hear them thanks to Royal Purple.

I'm happy to help, Pete! This Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W-50 Motorcycle or ATV Motor Oil (Part No. 01316) will certainly work in your 2000 Bombardier DS650 with a wet clutch. This oil will operate in the 32-122 degree Fahrenheit range.

Bombardier recommends the use of their 5W-40 synthetic oil Part No. 293 600 039 or a 10W40 mineral oil for summer use and 5W30 for winter use. Your owner's manual also indicates the temperature range of other viscosities available for your ATV.

        A:

This Royal Purple Max Cycle SAE 20W50 (Part# 01316) recommends following the manufacturer’s maintenance intervals while the vehicle is under factory warranty. In clean engines that are no longer under warranty, oil change intervals may be extended up to every 20,000 kms or annually, whichever comes first. Oil filter changes should be done as recommended by the filter’s manufacturer and oil should be topped off as needed.
