AWESOME PRODUCT.......I was hearing and feeling a grinding, knocking, and ratcheting sound from my rear differential on my recently purchased 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Quadcab 2WD. The person I bought it from told me it would be needing a new rear end very soon. So..... I drained and cleaned the 12 year old differential and refilled it with Royal Purple 75W140 Synthetic Gear Oil. The noise dissapeared and the truck became as smooth as silk. Needless to say I am a Very Satified Customer.

The differential in my 2002 Dodge Viper was making a whining noise when turning after warming up. I swapped out the factory lube with the Royal Purple, and the noise is gone. Very happy with the results for the money!

What a great product!!! I replaced the gear oil in my front and rear differentials on my F250 Superduty. Before I used Royal Purple the rear axle started whining above 60mph on the highway, and the front axle was noisy in 4wd, AFTER using Royal Purple the noise completely went away in both drive axles. Also when driving at 55mph my tach would read 2200RPM before using R.P. and now after I changed it reads 1800RPM, this synthetic is obviously much more "slippery" the the factory slop they put in there! I also have ordered Royal Purple 5w30 motor oil for my Superduty as well and I am sure I will not be disappointed!

Also, I never rate products. I was just very impressed with the results.

Great product. Running it in my front & rear locking differentials. Rear is limited slip with a locker - no binding at all on sharp turns. Do not use any limited slip additive unless you try it without first you absolutely need it. This stuff is slippery and works great!

To fill, use a long plastic or rubber hose that extends from the transfer case to outside of the area of your vehicle. You can't tip the bottle enough to empty oil without using a tube.

                                  A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Royal Purple Gear Oil Syn 75W140 - Part No. 01301, a rear differential transmits power from the transmission or transfer case to the wheels. A transfer case is used on all-wheel drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles to split the power between a front and a rear differential. The construction and maintenance of front differentials mirror that of the rear on the same vehicle. Most differentials call for SAE 75w-90 / 80w-90 gear oil, however some heavy-duty and limited-slip differentials need SAE 75w-140 gear oil. I would recommend that you follow the recommendations of 2005 Ford Explorer manual.
