Comments about Rislone Transmission Stop Slip with Leak Repair (32 oz.):

This stuff worked while still in the driveway!

I went from barely being able to move, to not moving at all, so I tried Lucas Stop Slip and it went back to barely able to move, then it blew a line, which sprayed the Lucas and another quart of fluid all over the place and smoked up the bay. I fixed the line and then went down to get more fluid, and that's when I figured I would try this and wow, did it work, and pretty fast too. I would definitely try this first next time.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm happy to help, Mike! The Rislone Transmission Stop Slip with Leak Repair (Part No. 4502) works on any front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive vehicle. It also works on ALL domestic/import, regular 2 speed, overdrive 4 & 5 speed automatic/manual transmissions. This product is compatible with domestic and import transmission fluid; including petroleum and synthetic formulas.

Rislone indicates that the product is completely safe to use and will not harm any part of the transmission system. • Q:

I have a 2004 Ford Explorer that does not have a dipstick. Since this product would need to be added from underneath the truck, will I need special tubes and tools or can I insert the tip of the bottle into the plug hole and squeeze fluid in?
Asked on 1/22/2015 by Clueless from Washington, NJ

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm happy to help! To fill the transmission on a 2004 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6, you will need OTC Transmission Fluid Fill Adapter (Part No. OTC6604) and Performance Tools Suction Gun (Part No. W54220). If you have not already done so, a fluid and filter change in your transmission may help correct the problem you are trying to fix with this Rislone Transmission Stop Slip with Leak Repair (Part No. 4502).

If your vehicle has a 5R55S transmission (this can be determined from the tag in the driver's side door jamb), it requires 12.7 quarts of Mercon V Automatic Transmission Fluid (Advance Auto Parts Part No. A102) and a Fram Internal Transmission Cartridge (Part No. FT1224) or Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit (Part No. DW-FK344).

If your vehicle has the 6R60 transmission, the filter is not available on AdvanceAutoParts.com at this time. Your local Advance Auto Parts or CARQUEST store may be able to obtain the filter for you or direct you to a local retailer that has one available. This transmission requires 11 quarts of Motorcraft Mercon SP Automatic Transmission Fluid (Part No. XT6QSP).

youran Idoth is wrong!!! if dip stick says the transmission is FULL then you need to drain enough out to let the treatment bring it up to the proper operating level. To much fluid can damage your transmission also

Answered on 3/21/2011 by papaw51 from Erlanger, KY
        • A:

Remove transmission dipstick and check fluid level. For most vehicles this is usually done while the engine
is running and the transmission is in Park. Tip: The transmission dipstick is usually located near the engine
oil dipstick, but further back into the engine compartment. Some vehicles do not have a normal dipstick. For
those, the product has to be added to the transmission through a fill plug. Consult owner’s manual for
location. If fluid is low, pour entire contents of the bottle into the dipstick tube. Do NOT overfill. For compact
and smaller vehicles, use ½ of the bottle. Tip. If necessary, to prevent overfill, drain some fluid from
transmission. Check fluid level again. Top off with manufacturer’s recommended transmission fluid as
needed. Replace dipstick and drive 10 to 15 minutes to circulate fluid. Depending on transmission problem,
results will either be immediate or noticeable within a few days of driving. In transmissions with seriously
          damaged components a second treat
