I have been using the orange Rainex washer fluid and love it. This stuff was on sale so I bought it instead. A few months later in early fall I started to fill the reservour for the first time with this when I noticed that this is only good to +32 degrees. In upstate New York winters this would spell disaster. I disposed of this and bought the -20 degrees orange version. Live and learn :)

Comments about Rain X Bug Remover 32 Degree Windshield Washer Fluid (1 Gallon):

It's a good summer formula wiper fluid, but mainly I like to use this stuff instead of windex to clean the windows on the exterior of cars and boat windshields. It really does clean quite well as a wiper fluid. Applying real Rain-X two or 3 times a year to the windshield, and once a year to your glass does help keep your windows and windshield cleaner, helps minimize rock chips too. This keeps the coating on your windshield with the wiper fluid, but I spray it out of a bottle and onto the glass and it gets replenished as you use it. Much easier this way!

Comments about Rain X Bug Remover 32 Degree Windshield Washer Fluid (1 Gallon):

It is windshield washer fluid so there isnt much to say. Rainx is a great product but in washer fluid form, it really doesnt make a ton of sense since good wiper blades, well, wipe it right off. It makes more sense to do a Rainx treatment to your windows and use a normal washer fluid that is cheaper.

You can easily make your own washer fluid in a gallon jug with 3 qts. water and isopropyl alcohol. Many recipes are available online.

      Great for Florida's Love Bugs

      By

      from Gainesville, Florida

Comments about Rain X Bug Remover 32 Degree Windshield Washer Fluid (1 Gallon):

I was shocked at how well this worked for Florida's love bugs! If applied within 30 minutes of the bug splat, it removes them entirely, with no streaking. I used to wait until I got home so I could literally scrub the dead love bugs off the windshield, because ordinary windshield washer fluid just left a streaky mess, but this stuff was fantastic!

Deionized water formula, streak-free cleaning performance, This Bug Remover Windshield Washer Fluid powers off stubborn bugs and road grime just like it says. I drive through heavy "love-bug" areas of Florida and it would be hard to do so without this. I usually carry an extra gallon for times when I know I'll be going through bad bug areas at night. And it's Made in the USA. I find it strange that some people are claiming staining or winshield wiper damage from this. I have never encountered any trouble and have used this in 10 cars and have ran literally over a 100 gallons of it without any problem. In fact it enhances the Rain-ex quality of the windsheild making water bead off with ease.

I live in Michigan and have never heard of a washer fluid that can freeze so I never checked the label. How this ended up being sold here in the winter is a little puzzling, but now my washers are frozen up! Can I add alcohol to this product to make is usable here?

                      A:

Hi Jim, I'm glad to assist you. I would recommend you to drain this washer fluid completely and replaced it with a winterized fluid. The easiest way to thaw frozen windshield washer fluid is to park the vehicle in a warm garage for an extended period of time. Once the fluid has returned to a liquid state, drain it and fill the system with the proper fluid for your climate. If you don't have access to a heated garage, you can thaw the windshield washer fluid by removing the system from your vehicle. This is not an easy task and should only be attempted if you are handy with tools. Begin by disconnecting the rubber hoses from the fluid reservoir. Remove the mounting bolts and the reservoir itself. Finally, follow the rubber hoses and disconnect them from the sprayers. Once you've removed all of the components from the vehicle, take them inside your home to thaw completely.

                      A:

I'm happy to help, Ted! This Rain X Rain X +32F Bug Remover Windshield Wash (Part No. RX68806) is safe for incidental exposure to automotive paint. When used from the windshield washer sprayers, it's a definite possibility that the fluid will come into contact with your paint. This should be no cause for concern as Rain-X would engineer the fluid with the proximity to the vehicle body in mind.
