What’s so great about PureONE oil filters? Purolator PureONE Oil Filters are 99.9% efficient. This means that most all contaminants that pass through a PureONE oil filter are captured in its exclusive Micronic media, helping to prevent engine damage. Each also comes equipped with a silicone anti-drainback valve that helps to protect against engine dry-start. Put away those filter wrenches because all PureONE oil filters feature specially textured paint that helps keep the filter from slipping when you’re installing or removing it. So no matter at what angle you find yourself, you’ll have a firm, textured grip. To top it off, the filter’s PTFE-treated sealing gasket also makes for easy installation and removal. Purolator PureONE oil filters should be replaced every 3,000 miles or three months depending on the driving conditions, or as specified by your vehicle's manufacturer.

Product Features:
  • 99.9% of all contaminants that pass through a PureONE oil filter are captured in the media.
  • Micronic media traps microscopic contaminants
  • 100% covered in textured grip control that helps keep the filter from slipping when you’re installing or removing the filter.
  • PTFE treated sealing gasket for ease of installation and removal
  • Silicone anti-drainback valve lasts longer for extended protection against engine dry start

This filter line (Pure One) always rates high on message boards as having the finest filtration. Oil analysis proves it's effectiveness.

The down side is a shorter service life. The media is so fine it can plug up quickly. I don't have proof of this, but it has been mentioned on other message boards. Also, Purolator states this filter must be changed out after 3000 miles. Use of synthetic oil will extend the service life of the oil, but depending on engine condition (tune, wear, etc), particles are still generated, and the filter will trap those particles, requiring frequent changes. It's too bad there is no way to tell when the filter goes into bypass, we can only guess and change out when recommended.

I would rather have a filter that does just that: FILTER!!

This filter is slighty bigger (round) then the OEM Ford filter. When I purcahsed it I also bought the oil filter cap/wrench to remove the old one with. When I went to change it, the OEM filter is slightly smaller then the Purolator filter so the tool did not fit it. I comprised by putting a folded piece of sandpaper around the filter to make it more snug and it came right off. Not a big deal, but be prepared for the slightly different size.

Comments about Purolator PureONE Oil Filter:

Purolator changed the packaging and outside of the filter that I've used for years on all of my vehicles. They removed the rough texture that makes it easy to install and remove the filter. This is a step back. I'll consider other filters in the future.

Comments about Purolator PureONE Oil Filter:

I am 61 and began servicing my cars when I became a single mom at 26. Considering cost and features, purolator premium (gold) oil filters are the best currently on the market. A better value and the same or better performance as the "boutique" oil filters. Ordering on-line from Advance Auto Parts was easy and fast. I received my order in 4 days. The prices at Advanced Auto Parts are competitive, and even better than competitive, if you take advantage of their e-mail offers.

Comments about Purolator PureONE Oil Filter:

I was looking for something with a larger filter surface area than the stock PF48 filter for my 2008 Buick Enclave CXL, and I really didn't want the PF63. So I checked out the Penzoil PureOne PL22500. Been using them for the last three changes.
