What’s so great about PureONE oil filters? Purolator PureONE Oil Filters are 99.9% efficient. This means that most all contaminants that pass through a PureONE oil filter are captured in its exclusive Micronic media, helping to prevent engine damage. Each also comes equipped with a silicone anti-drainback valve that helps to protect against engine dry-start. Put away those filter wrenches because all PureONE oil filters feature specially textured paint that helps keep the filter from slipping when you’re installing or removing it. So no matter at what angle you find yourself, you’ll have a firm, textured grip. To top it off, the filter’s PTFE-treated sealing gasket also makes for easy installation and removal. Purolator PureONE oil filters should be replaced every 3,000 miles or three months depending on the driving conditions, or as specified by your vehicle's manufacturer.

Product Features:
  • 99.9% of all contaminants that pass through a PureONE oil filter are captured in the media.
  • Micronic media traps microscopic contaminants
  • 100% covered in textured grip control that helps keep the filter from slipping when you’re installing or removing the filter.
  • PTFE treated sealing gasket for ease of installation and removal
  • Silicone anti-drainback valve lasts longer for extended protection against engine dry start

The PureOne is a "premium" USA-built OEM replacement oil filter. It's best purchased as an upgrade to the Valvoline/ Purolator oil change special (every 3-6 months). This filter maintains conventional oil for the entire 3,000 mile drain duration and probably up to 5,000. The rough coating makes installation and handling much easier. Removal is best performed with your preferred, fitted oil filter wrench OR the Craftsman 47064 spider wrench and a rubber band. I discovered the Craftsman this weekend while replacing an oil pan gasket and changing oil. Get it. It's like the Schley valve adjusting tool I recently discovered--I don't know why I didn't buy it sooner. Anyways, upgrade to the PureOne series and your car will thank you.

My experience with oil filters:
1. MobilOne (expensive unless using synthetic)
2. PureOne, Bosch
3. Purolator, Honda
4. Fram (junk-upgrade to something better)
5. Driveworks (junk-upgrade to something better)

If you are going to purchase this for a Honda Prelude SH then I suggest to reconsider your options. Take the stock filter that came with the car and compare it with the Purolator ONE in store before you buy this. The Purolator is easily twice the size of the stock filter on the Prelude SH making it difficult to mount. This filter is listed for both the BASE and SH models. While it works fine on the BASE model, it will NOT work on the SH because on the SH the oil filter mount is located up higher on the block just under the intake manifold. On the BASE model the filter is located lower on the block where there is more room. There is literally no room on the SH with where the oil filter mounts up and clearly the design was not well thought out. The filter is so large there is not enough room to get a wrench on it or even your hands so it is impossible to tighten completely.

Comments about Purolator PureONE Oil Filter:

PureOne Oil Filters have always been an excellent quality & value choice, especially for Synthetic Oils. PureOne was formerly Purolator's best filter colored yellow)capturing 99.9% of contaminants, Purolator has just recently tiered their oil filter line into three levels (Classic up to 5K mi with conventional oils - White or Red housing), PureOne up to 10K mi with synthetic oils - bright blue housing, and Boss up to 15K mi with extended life synthetic oils - black housing. So be careful which one you pick off the shelf, as the part numbers are nearly the same with a different prefix letter prior to the numbers. Also take notice that the outer box packaging is in transition to a new hexagonal shape and color, which is probably the reason for the $2 off sale on the PureOne line.

Excellent filter at an affordable price. Quality design throughout. 99.9% single pass efficiency. Filter is designed to hold up to 13 grams of contaminants. 13 grams is equal to 31 paper clips or 8 nails. Filter has silicone anti-drain back valve for extended protection against engine dry start. Filter body covered in a textured grip to help with installation or removal. You get a lot of filter for the money. I've been changing my own oil for years. After I discovered Purolator PureOne filters it's the only one I use.

Fits perfectly and does an excellent job. These filters are an extremely good value when ordered online with the discount codes and picked up in the store. Purolator has been around for a while and still builds quality parts with quality materials and I appreciate that. The yellow grip coating is helpful when trying to remove the filter.

The oil filter fits great on my motorcycle. It is about half the price of an oil filter purchased from typical motorcycle shops. Moreover, this is the filter recommended on all the motorcycle forums, plus with a PTFE impregnated seal. Great deal and normally in stock at my local store.

I only use Purolator PurONE filters for my Acura RSX, Pontiac Trans Am, Acura Integra, and Hyundai Sonata. They always return nigh-metal-free oil analyses, no matter the oil, no matter the application. This one in particular is for the RSX. It's an easy spin-on filter. The rubber seals are solid and firm. The yellow grippy finish makes spin-on and spin-off super-easy even if your hands are drenched with oil. Instructions are on the box. (Though if you're looking at this product, you probably won't need them!)
