Purolator PCV Valve

The PCV valve is one half of the crankcase ventilation system - the other half is the breather filter. The breather flows clean air into the crankcase through a hose on your air filter and the PCV valve lets dirty air and crankcase gases out. These dirty gases and air get sent through the engine to be re-burned for clean emissions. An old PCV valve can cause rough engine idle, blown oil seals, fouled air filter and fuel system, fumes in the passenger compartment, excessive engine part wear, and shorter oil life. Although the PCV is not a pollution control valve, a worn out PCV valve can contribute to air pollution. So, it’s important to change your PCV valve for the safety of your vehicle - and the environment!

This is so easy yet so many people forget they have one. It is literally pull old one out pop new one in kind of job. I have no things to say in the are not so great category. Just that too many people do not realize the benefit to you, your car, and environment. And this is sooooo easy and at a very low low cost its less then one gallon of gas.

This thing whistled like heck when I put it in my wife's '00 LeSabre. Reading the internet boards, this is common with putting non-GM PCV valves into GMs.

03 Chevy Malibu was guzzling about a quart of oil in between changes every 3000 miles. Original PCV valve hadnt been disturbed since factory installation. When I took out old valve and examined it three things were very clear: a rusty pcv valve is not something you want to ever see, being very careful with old dry rubber vacuum tubes is a must, if you can shake a pcv valve with all of your might and it wont click this repair was way overdue. No whistling or clicks like some people complain about when replacing Ac Delco with aftermarket items. Amazing product and amazing performance. Not loosing a drop of oil between changes now. Thanks Advance Auto.

Easy to remove & install, but dry rubber elbow broke. I replaced it with a rubber elbow in the Dorman HELP that said it was for a different make since they did not have one for mine & works fine.

A little difficult to install on a 3.5 Chevy v6 ....OEM pvc is installed with rivets.....But with a thin screwdriver blade ,one can pry up under them and remove ...install new pvc and tap in rivets back in original holes
