Check Vehicle Fit

Dirt and even rust can enter the fuel stream at any point along the long journey from refinery to your vehicle’s fuel tank. So, your fuel filter becomes the final line of defense against damaging contaminants getting into your vehicle. Clean fuel, free from dirt particles and rust, is essential for the smooth and efficient operation of your vehicle. A tiny grain of dirt can clog injectors, leading to erratic performance and poor gas mileage. Clean fuel increases gas mileage and improves engine performance - and with the fluctuating cost of gas these days, that’s really important!

Product Features:
  • Defense against damaging contaminants
  • Helps increase gas mileage
  • Improves engine performance

    Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

Bought this for my '06 Chevy Cobalt because I was replacing the gas lines which were rusted and leaking. They were rusted into the old filter so it could not be reused. Got this one and it was the same size as the original with same input terminal. Only difference was that the output connection was different than OEM but worked just the same and made a nice tight seal.

      Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

This was a breeze to install on my vehicle. Easy to access and the connectors attached as they should as did the mount bracket. It really could not be any easier to install a fuel filter.
This was done mainly for maintenance and not trying to fix a problem so noticing any 'improvement' was negligible.

        Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

Hardest part of the job was getting the original 8-year old fuel filter disconnected from the engine line. New filter fit perfect. Installed this while replacing the fuel pump module on 2006 Chevy Cobalt.

        Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

I used the Advance website to find the filter for my 2006 Saturn Ion (same as Chevy Cobalt). The attachment on the output side was different than what's on the car. Had to go to another store to get it.

          • Q:

Inspecting before I get started on a 2004 Saturn Ion 3 quad coupe. It looks like the two quick connect clips are pretty easy to figure out by simply squeezing and pulling. Looking at the other end with metal tubing and I don't see any type of connector so how does that end release?

Apparently, this is the recommended tool for the OTHER end - AutoCraft Fuel Line Disconnect Tool. You'll either need to buy one or consult with a rep to see how it works. I'll have one this weekend...

I'm glad to help you, Dan! The connections from the filter end with 2 connections appears to be a squeeze fitting. It appears you should squeeze the fitting to allow removal of the feed and return tubes from the tank.

the filter is actually closer to the passenger side not the drivers side and is located near the tank, above the rear axle assembly. I was just looking at mine two days ago on a 2006, no different than a 2007, as I have owned both years.
