Check Vehicle Fit

Dirt and even rust can enter the fuel stream at any point along the long journey from refinery to your vehicle’s fuel tank. So, your fuel filter becomes the final line of defense against damaging contaminants getting into your vehicle. Clean fuel, free from dirt particles and rust, is essential for the smooth and efficient operation of your vehicle. A tiny grain of dirt can clog injectors, leading to erratic performance and poor gas mileage. Clean fuel increases gas mileage and improves engine performance - and with the fluctuating cost of gas these days, that’s really important!

Product Features:
  • Defense against damaging contaminants
  • Helps increase gas mileage
  • Improves engine performance

This is a great filter to use, since most of us through out the top when we changed the fuel filter the first time. has 2 o-rings so fits newer and older models. For me the worst part is removing the stupid cover that is nothing more than a label for Ford to dress up the motor. If your changing the fuel filter I don't think you need to know it's a Ford deisel.

    Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

I have a 2000 7.3 Powerstroke. This filter would not screw all the way down on the housing. Also this filter dose not contain the pre filter mesh on the outside like the picture. I did not cross thread it. The treads on the cap looked thicker than the filter that came off my truck. I bought the drive works filter Part No. DW-59292, and it worked great. It does have the pre filter.

      Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

have ran these filters in my 7.3ltr. power stroke the last 250k miles with no problems. This most recent filter had a cap with a 1 inch six point head sticking up out of the center instead of the 1/2 inch drive cap with fins like the OE. We'll see if it comes off when it gets changed in another 5k miles. If it comes off as easy as it went on, It's a great improvement.

            Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

The OEM filter had an additional paper/fabric barrier, and was able to be removed using a strap wrench. I can forsee that this filter MAY strip the molded 1" hex off of the top leaving very few options to remove it. My old filter was really torqued on and the additional lip hight was key in its removal. the new cover has no such lip.

            Time will tell.

I could no longer use the stock filter because the stock cover became warped. Ford wanted too much money for a replacement. This filter has the cap built into it and works very well. I highly recommend it.

Hi Jim, this Purolator Fuel Filter -part# F59292 is an exact fit for your 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Try using grease as anti-seize on the threads and washer flats of the fittings to start up the thread, but don't get any in the fuel intakes.
