Comments about Purolator Classic Oil Filter:

Even the OEM fuel filter from the dealership is stamped made in china. So the Made in China stamp is not really a deal breaker. This appears to be a solid filter with excellent micron rating. It is competitively priced (especially with coupon(s)), and it is practically always in stock nearby.

Comments about Purolator Classic Oil Filter:

I've been using this filter every 10K in my VW Golf TDI for the last 4 oil changes. It functions as any typical oil filter, never had a failure. The only pain is that its hard to tell which end goes up. The Mann Filters are labeled this one is not, you have to look with a flashlight internally to see the slots in the plastic to figure it out. The slots should be up/solid plastic should be down to keep some oil in the filter for startup. Also make sure to remove the old O-rings and install new ones with a bit of oil wiped on them. *you can see the internal slots in the picture I've added
