I bought this filter as I always buy this filter and have never had problems before. When I went to install the filter, it would not thread past the first turn. A close inspection of the threads revealed that the threads were not cut deep enough during the manufacturing process. I took the filter back and explained the problem. They took the filter back but proceded to stare at my like I spoke greek. The second filter I got had the same problem. I ended up going to a different store and purchasing a fram filter which worked just fine.

Comments about Purolator Classic Oil Filter:

I have used Purolator Classic engine oil filters since the 1990's. The first time I used one of these was in 1991 or 1992 on a 1990 Toyota Camry V6 DX. This car was a thrill to drive with a monster V6 2.5 Liter 24 Valve which produced 155 or 156 HP. Now I use them on a 2005 Toyota Corolla Le with a 1.8 Liter 16 Valve Inline that's got power and boost like a V6 my mechanic says to me. On oil and filter changed regularly every 3,000 miles. If you use conventional motor oil in your car then don't leave it in there for more than 4 months even if you don't put 3,000 miles on it. This engine oil filter is made with craftsmanship. A quality part than won't put a real dent in your wallet. Get these with your oil change specials in the monthly flyer.
