Comments about Purolator Cabin Air Filter:

The filter is sufficiently flexible to allow it to be squeezed in the middle, which results in the ends rounding like a fan. The filter will only squeeze in with the ends rounded. The filter can't be pushed into the housing with the end straight, because it appears to be wider than the opening of the housing. That's also a problem, when pulling out the old one, but you don't care if you mangle it. The filter straightens out and seats, when fully in the filter housing. A tab only helps in pulling out the old filter, but you need to pull upward before pulling out, else you just tear off the tab.

First time I've attempted to change filters. The dealer wanted $150 for two filters. I paid less then $30 for both and once I understood what to do it took 15 min.

In here at store this product C45871 is messed up and wrongly posted for nissan altima coupe. SO ask for sedan or visa-versa. Fits perfect as OEM and price is competitive. I would recommend for other buyers.

The cabin air filter on your 2009 Nissan Murano should be located behind your glove box. There is a rectangle door that you will see once the glove box has been removed. It is in there that you will find your filter. How do you get the cabin filter out of a 2010 maxima when the access cover/opening is smaller the the filter panel? Does anything else have to be removed to fully access the filter or do you rely on squishing the filter out and hope for the best.

                    A:

You will find the filter cover under the panel on the passenger's side center console. To find it, follow the side of the center console all the way forward on the passenger's side. You will see that it is in two sections. Grab the forward section of the console from the bottom and pull out and towards the rear of the car. It will "pop off". There you will be able to see the filter cover.

I've read a lot about people having to remove the glove box to properly replace the in-cabin filter. Some say its unnecessary, but the people that do remove the glove box says it just gives you much more access. See the two website below for detailed instructions (on a 2007). I'm gonna try it this weekend (glove box out, that is):

Taking off the glove box makes changing the filter much easier. Takes an extra 15 minutes, so if you can shove it in there without taking out the glove box, do it.
