I had high hopes considering all the good general reviews regarding Purolator so I decided to give them a try. Well, the filter itself is, well, not the feel of high quality. Further, it's also not an exact fit. It's about 4mm shy of the frame so you can see a gap where you wouldn't have a good seal and would see air flow through.

Further, those Darn airflow signs. Is it the direction of flow or is it pointing to where the airflow is coming from? If they could just state that simple fact on the instructions, I wouldn't have to guess at it.

Anyway, thinking I may have just received a fluke, I ordered another with the same problem. With that, no Purolator for me on this car.

As a side note, I got a Fram fresh breeze one for my 2005 Honda Odyssey EX and it was a wonderful fit. It was rather thick and heavy for a filter so I am concerned that it may be restricting more flow than it's worth. We've used it for a week now and no complaints with it. I don't notice much smell so that's good...

Got this filter for two different model years and the simple replacement instructions were particular to the model year including different installation drawings for each. Both fit and quality same as OEM.

Hi Howie, that is a great question! The arrow of this Purolator Panel Type Cabin Air Filter (Part No. C35667) for air flow should point down for your 2014 Toyota Camry.

        A:

This will depend on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience with this type of project. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

With this one, it shouldnt really matter.

Answered on 11/10/2010 by Mike the Auto Parts Master from AAP
      • A:

The cabin air filter is pressed into place over round plastic tab mounts. Access to the black plastic panel only requires a short flat blade screwdriver. You insert the screwdriver into the square holes and gently press the locking plastic tabs downward toward the floor. After releasing all of them, the plastic cabin air filter tray swings down. The shape of the filter is your guide. Due to the unique shape, I suspect that it can only be inserted in one direction. In contrast, the main engine air filter does have an arrow pointing forward. I examined it and mine is dirty. I will be replacing it. I just looked at my cabin filter after 18,000 original miles and it's as white as a cotton ball. Mine obviously does not need to be replaced. The main consideration is to remove/install a filter gently. The trays are plastic. I hope this helps you. I own a 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
