where do I find the cabin air filter on a 2010 chevy equinox
Asked on 10/12/2013 by Tony from Chardon Ohio

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

Hi Tony, my answer to your question on the Purolator Panel Type Cabin Air Filter -part# C35519 is that for accessing the cabin air filter on your ChevyEquinox open and empty glove box. Find stopper tab at the top(It is used to stop the glove box when fully open). Push it up and out of the way so the glove box can open to its full extent. Behind the bottom of the glove box door is a hinge the glove box uses to swivel forwards and backwards. With glove box open to its full extent, you just have to lift it off of the hinge. May require a little wiggling. After the glove box is removed you will be able to see a black plastic cover with a round shape. Above is a rectangular door with two tabs keeping it shut. Both tabs need to be pushed up so the door can swing up, giving you access to the filter.

Cabin Air filters from Purolator are generally found in one of two locations: under the hood or under the dash board.

          • Q:

There are two cabin filters side by side. Do you need to buy a quantity of two or does the part number cover a pair of filters? Obviously, no one would ever changeout only one of the two filters. So, it would make sense to sell them in pairs, like brake pads.

Replacing a cabin air filter is actually not that hard to do. Replacing a cabin air filter is not something that a store employee usually does, but if you go to the store and they are not that busy, one associate may be able to give you guidance.
