Had vehicle at dealer for oil change and they pulled out the air filter. It was dirty but dealer price was Sky high plus install charge for what the service writer was holding in his hands.. Went around the corner to Advanced and picked up one of these up for less than what the dealer wanted to charge just to instll their overpriced version.

This product seems over priced for its build and amount of material. I will most likely go with a self made filter next time. You can find instructions online on making your own replacement cabin filter using a home ac filter that can be purchased at any grocery or home improvement store.

does not fit very well

Comments about Purolator Cabin Air Filter:

apparently Purolator changed the design on this filter and really cheapened it. It no longer has the hard flange around the edge although it does fit the holder....sort of....with some fiddling. It doesn't fit the holder very snug so there are gaps where air can bypass the filter.

Comments about Purolator Cabin Air Filter:

The filter material and construction seem fine, but the edges substitute an open cell foam band instead of the hard plastic flange of the Subaru version (also made by Purolator). This doesn't seal the filter against the housing as well as the factory version, so air will leak around it.

Comments about Purolator Cabin Air Filter:

1- Photo shown on web page is not the filter that comes in the box. The one in the photo shows a plastic frame all around filter which is more rigged.
2-The one in the box now is flimsy, with concave sides, which will alow dirt & dust to by pass the filter & attach itself to the coil in vehicle, thus defeating the purpose of the filter.
3-Your Detailed Photo of the filter in the box. It is what the filter use to be.

In my opinion, I have never been able to tell when a cabin air filter would need to be replaced unless you actually pulled it out and checked it. If the cabin air filter is dirty and you replace it, you should be able to tell the difference right away.
