I could not fit filter into slot so I went back into the store to ask for assistance. A female employee came out to the car and with some cajoling, managed to get it in place. Also filter has air flow direction arrow but how does one determine that AFTER old part is removed ?

If your time is worth $5 to $10 a minute, it is well worth your time to replace your own cabin filter. The filter for my car was hinged in the middle for easier installation and it took less than 10 minutes to remove the old filter and put in the new. An easy do-it-yourself maintainence job [...]

1st time replacing the cabin filter in a 01 Town and Country. The replacement filter matched the OE filter. Hardest part was getting the old one out and new one in due to the placement of the filter housing close to the floorboard.

It is under the dash on the passenger side, look for a sliding access panel under the glove box or a long skinny pop-off panel (about 1" by 6") under the glove box and close to the center console.
