    • Q:

I would like to do a dual fan set up with a pusher and a puller. both 16" fans 67016. Motor side will have a fan shroud and pulling while the other fan will mount direct to the AC condensor coil, pushing and slightly offset to the pulling fan. Will this be a effective means of cooling and what dual fan control is recommended? I would prefer a thread into the intake manifold or radiator.

        A:

I'm happy to help, Blane! Setting up a dual fan cooling system on a vehicle that was not originally equipped to do so will require knowledge of the vehicle and its cooling requirements as well as the ventilation paths available to provide the best cooling for the vehicle. I suggest speaking with a mechanic to determine if this would be an effective method of cooling your vehicle.

You mention that you want to mount one fan directly to the AC condensor. The condensor will typically require a smaller fan than your engine to provide proper cooling from your air conditioning system. Imperial Thermostatic Fan Control (Part No. 226204 [push-in] and 226208 [thread-in]) are adjustable. Part No. 226206 is preset at 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Your choice of controller will be based on your preference of installation and whether you want to be able to adjust the temperature.

    • Q:

I wrote the previous question "When purchasing this fan, which thermostat kit should I purchase for my 2007 Chrysler Aspen Limited? Please include the Part Number so I can order it."

I need the thermostat kit that monitors the temperature of the radiator and tells this aftermarket electric fan when to turn on and turn off. The part (part# 14369) that is noted in the previous response is incorrect. The correct part will have wires to connect between this fan and the power source. Please include the Part Number so I can order it. I need the thermostat kit that monitors the temperature of the radiator and tells this aftermarket electric fan when to turn on and turn off.

I'm happy to help you! The part that you are referring to is called a Thermostat Fan controller. Unfortunately I do not see a compatible fan controller for your Aspen available online. However I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance Auto parts for any alternate part availability.

Is it better to mount in front or back of radiator? I have room to mount either way.

        A:

The fan can be mounted on the back side of the radiator to pull air through the radiator core or mounted on the front side to assist in forcing air through the radiator core and in turn keep the engine cooler. An electric fan is much more efficient when it is pulling air through the radiator core. When pushing the air through, you will get some CFM loss due to deflection from the radiator core. You can also install your electric fan on the front of the radiator or A/C condenser for additional cooling. This will keep the condenser cooler and help the A/C system be more efficient.
