Comments about Powerbuilt Tools Serpentine Belt Tool Kit:

I bought this to replace the serpentine belt on a 4 cylinder GM ecotec engine, and it wasn't versitile enough to get in there. I ended up using a 3/8 flex head ratchet, and an extension bar to obtain the necessary torque.

However, I also used this tool for a big Northstar V8, and I couldn't have done the job without it! The extension bar allowed me to angle the lever in such a way that I was able to apply all the tension I needed, in a perfect position. To me this doesn't seem like a professional tool, because it just isn't versitle enough. The metal handle on the long lever is also a bit flimsy, but adequate for getting the job done.

The short sockets are rock solid, and come in handy on non-serpentine auto projects as well, when your'e working in tight places. That was an unexpected side benefit for me.

The case is cheap plastic, but it holds all the pieces, which is especially important for an infrequently used tool like this. I would never consider buying a serpentine tool kit like this without a case.

Comments about Powerbuilt Tools Serpentine Belt Tool Kit:

This tool kit has attachments that should make it useful on many different vehicles.

In my case I could not use it on the vehicle I purchased it for. Due to the orientation of the square hole in the tensioner to the square drive on the tool, I could not release all the tension on the belt. I used a 3/8" flex-head ratchet instead.
