Comments about Pilot Passenger Headlamp Assembly:

Against my better judgement after reading the reviews here about the problems with the fasteners, I ordered a set of these lights. The bulbs are fine, the actual lamp housing is great, but the upper clips (one per lamp) are brittle and the lower cup fasteners (two per lamp) are brittle and incorrectly sized. They look like the clips and fasteners on the original lamps, but they are most definitely not. I was able to make one out of four of the lower cups work after carving out a little bit with a 7/32 drill bit. The other three did not fit and ended up exploding even after adjustment. So for these other three I had to remove the cups from my OEM lamps, which is a major pain and involves two dudes, needle nose pliers, a little mangling and a lot of swearing. And another problem as you are working with making the lower cups fit is that the upper clips have a lifespan of one insertion, meaning if you have to pull the lamps off, bits and pieces of plastic will break off. In summary, if your GC lights are dim, I would probably recommend using cleaner, or looking for a clearer OEM set in a junkyard!

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The clips are junk!!! I read the reviews about using a drill and make the clips bigger. I drilled out my clips and when I installed the headlights the clips broke into a million pieces !!!

Comments about Pilot Passenger Headlamp Assembly:

I am the original owner of my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The original headlight units were faded (turning yellowish), leaking water and the reflective mirror finish inside them was flaking off. I bought this new assembly, received and installed it yesterday. I actually bought two of them, both passenger and drivers side. The only problem I had with installing them is this. There are three retainer clips on the back side of the units that simply snap onto some posts that are attached to the Jeep. One retainer clip on one of the units would not snap to a tight fit. As someone else on this site has mentioned, I took a 7/32" drill bit and drilled out the clip. I did not use a drill motor to do this. I just twisted the drill bit by hand. I didn't need to remove much material at all and it took less than a minute to do it. If you do this, be careful and drill through only the front part of the clip. Do not drill through the plug on the bottom of the clip. After doing that, the unit snapped tightly into place. Again, I bought both headlight units and out of all six retainer clips, I had to ream/drill only one. The passenger side unit snapped tightly into place without any modifications. I took the Jeep for a test drive late last night to try out the new headlight units. What an amazing difference. I didn't realize how bad my original units were until I installed the new ones. The pattern in the lens is almost identical as the originals. I don't know if that makes such a big difference, but I don't remember the original headlights ever being as good as the new ones. I have never been overly impressed with the headlights on my Jeep from day one of ownership, but after last night's test drive, I think I'm going to be 100% satisfied. Yes, I would certainly recommend this unit. OH ! I gave these unit's a 4 star rating only due to the fact that apparently they do need minor modifications in order to fit 100% properly. Not a big deal though for someone of average intelligence to fix.

Comments about Pilot Passenger Headlamp Assembly:

After buying the "cheap" ones online and the brittle mounting sockets crumbling to shards of broken hard plastic, I bought these and they are good quality and the mounts are teflon or nylon or something. They work perfectly as they should. Don't be deceived by cheaper headlights.

The connecting points on the product did not even come close to actually working, very poor craftsmanship on this product. It may be a great Headlight Lamp assembly, but couldn't put it on my vehicle to find out. Found a great fitting product from another company for 2/3s the price

Ordered driver and passenger side headlight assy, the lens pattern did not match and the physical quality of one was poor. Returned both units. Has stock been checked for quality and match? Would like to re-order.
