Comments about Pilot Driver Headlamp Assembly:

The clips that snap onto the adjusters snap off very easily. NO REPLACEMENTS are to be found at Advance nor can you order them. WHY..?? Had to drill a large enough hole in fastener than stuff the hole with Quick Steel compound, than placed headlight assy. onto veh., which gave it a strong bond and seems to be holding.

Comments about Pilot Driver Headlamp Assembly:

I am the original owner of my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The original headlight units were faded (turning yellowish), leaking water and the reflective mirror finish inside them was flaking off. I bought this new assembly, received and installed it yesterday. I actually bought two of them, both passenger and drivers side. The only problem I had with installing them is this. There are three retainer clips on the back side of the units that simply snap onto some posts that are attached to the Jeep. One retainer clip on one of the units would not snap to a tight fit. As someone else on this site has mentioned, I took a 7/32" drill bit and drilled out the clip. I did not use a drill motor to do this. I just twisted the drill bit by hand. I didn't need to remove much material at all and it took less than a minute to do it. If you do this, be careful and drill through only the front part of the clip. Do not drill through the plug on the bottom of the clip. After doing that, the unit snapped tightly into place. Again, I bought both headlight units and out of all six retainer clips, I had to ream/drill only one. The passenger side unit snapped tightly into place without any modifications. I took the Jeep for a test drive late last night to try out the new headlight units. What an amazing difference. I didn't realize how bad my original units were until I installed the new ones. The pattern in the lens is almost identical as the originals. I don't know if that makes such a big difference, but I don't remember the original headlights ever being as good as the new ones. I have never been overly impressed with the headlights on my Jeep from day one of ownership, but after last night's test drive, I think I'm going to be 100% satisfied. Yes, I would certainly recommend this unit.

      Great improvement from stock headlights

Comments about Pilot Driver Headlamp Assembly:

These headlights are much brighter than the stock headlights, im guessing due to better light dispersment due to different style lenses. The only problem I had with the headlights were that the clips that pop the headlight on at the bottom were not big enough and would not fit. It was easily fixed by drilling out the center of the clip with a 7/32 drill bit. They then popped on easily and are on there tight and secure. For those who do not want to drill the clips, you can remove the clips from your old headlights and put them on the new ones, however removing these clips will be a pain, it can be done with patients. I would just drill them.
